Apologies on the late start -- we'll go longer than usual today to make up for that

What would a Machado and Britton to the Yankees package look like assuming Andujar isn't likely to be included (per Rosenthal's report)
Steve Adams
3:38
Maybe some teams disagree, but I find it hard to see how Zach Britton even has positive trade value right now. If the Orioles are eating his salary, sure, roll the dice, but he looks nothing like the Zach Britton who was arguably the best reliever in baseball in 2016.

Generally, I don't think Machado's value is as high as most fans are expecting it to be ... if they could get Clint Frazier or Jonathan Loaisiga as a headliner I'd call that a win. Chance Adams' stock is down, obviously, but he's the kind of near-MLB arm the O's are coveting.

What are some cheap, logical option for the Braves at RP and SP?
Steve Adams
3:39
Tyson Ross + Craig Stammen (or Kirby Yates, though price would be higher) combo meal
Justin

Does the Puig injury increase the dodgers need for machado?
Steve Adams
3:40
I don't see the two as overly related -- Machado makes their lineup better and their defense worse either way, but he's a net positive in the end.

If the Yanks Andujar or Frazier , I’d rather it be in a package for Snell .  But would the Rays have any reason to move snell ??
Steve Adams
3:41
If you're hoping for a Blake Snell trade, I'd recommend getting comfortable since you'll probably be waiting for a few years.

Does Jed Lowrie get traded?
Steve Adams
3:42
Would be very surprised if he were dealt with the A's contending for a wild card spot and amid rumors that Oakland actually prefers to extend him
Josh
3:43
Are the Pirates sellers or buyers? If buyers, who could they look at?
Steve Adams
3:43
I'd expect them to sell off pieces at this point -- it was a fun start to the season but they're looking buried right now
Zach Britton
3:44
Actually Zach has looked like Zach the past few games.  Even scouts are saying so.  He's back up to 97mph and has the sink back on his fastball.  The trade offer to the Yankees does make sense if you consider that.
Steve Adams
3:45
His velocity has been up for his past 2 outings -- but still not to its previous heights, and he's still falling behind the majority of hitters he faces. I'm not going to jump at paying him $5MM+ through season's end based on two innings of work, either.

I’m not sure JA Happ is much better than German.  Two bad starts in a row .  Is the consensus that his stock is down ?
Steve Adams
3:46
Two starts won't do anything to impact his trade stock -- seems like every year people worry that a few poor outings are going to torpedo someone's value and it's rarely the case

Is Taillon on the market?
Steve Adams
3:47
Even if the Bucs sell, I fully expect they'll hang onto Taillon

Does Machado go before July 31st?
Steve Adams
3:47
Yup

What would Tribe need to do to get the other O's marque name, Andrew Jones?  Could fill our RH outfield issue, if they throw in Brach, that could net the Os some more young talent from the Tribe...
Steve Adams
3:48
Adam Jones, firstly
3:49
And Jones isn't really a marquee name. He's barely keeping his OBP above .300 and can't play center field anymore ... he's basically a league-average bat you can plug into an OF corner who's also making $17MM. I don't think he's going to generate much trade interest.

Are the Diamondbacks out of the Machado race? Latest rumors don’t even seem to mention them
Steve Adams
3:50
Not out of it, but if the Dodgers or Brewers or Yankees are really serious and aggressive, it'd be tough for the D-backs to put together the best package.

At this point, what’s more likely; Yankees get a quality starter or Machado to the Yanks?
Steve Adams
3:50
Starter still seems likelier

Another Mejia 3-way deal: Mejia to Jays; Happ to Yanks; Frazier/Green to Indians
Steve Adams
3:50
Jays aren't getting Mejia for Happ

Hand or R.Iglesias > Britton
Steve Adams
3:51
Absolutely
Both in terms of present talent and especially trade value, given the remaining control on Hand and Iggy
Graham

What would the most realistic Degrom-Yankees trade look like?
Steve Adams
3:51
I don't consider any deGrom/Yankees deal realistic.

What is up with Amed Rosario?? Top prospects do not usually start off as badly as he has.
Steve Adams
3:52
They do frequently. Most people just only tend to really take note when someone goes all Juan Soto and makes performing at the MLB level look easy.

Should we try for trienen
Steve Adams
3:53
You can try, but I don't think the A's are moving him

Do I go after Realmuto or am I okay with Fedora-HoweverYouSpellIt and Stassi behind the dish?
