Erin - I love that you have tried alliteration with your adjectives. I would try to choose two of the most descriptive rather than use them all.

Sachin, lots of great ideas of combining opposites e.g. "blankets provided chill".  Make sure each line is as powerful as: "You could only skate on thick ice."  Try and get each idea to flow into another one so your poem has cohesion.
