Wow, carson throwing flames tonight!
Crusty Juggler
8:00
Yeah, sit on it, Uncle Jimbo
Eric A Longenhagen
8:00
Carson, when are we podding?
Carson Cistulli
8:00
Uh... Wednesday?
8:01
Wait, when's Wednesday?
Is that tomorrow?
Eric A Longenhagen
8:01
Tomorrow is Wednesday.
Carson Cistulli
8:01
Oh. Right.
How about Thursday?
Eric A Longenhagen
8:01
It's fine as long as we work around Instrux.
Carson Cistulli
8:01
Sure. That's alright.
Eric A Longenhagen
8:02
k
Carson Cistulli
8:02
Oh! And as someone on Twitter has reminded the public, Darren O'Day was also a Rule 5 pick.
(Apropos our conversation about that from earlier.)
Jeff Sullivan
8:02
Davis just got under that
dgrussel
8:02
Britton was warming in the top of the 9th...he must be hurt
Jeff Sullivan
8:02
Or the other thing!

8:02
Osuna hurt?
Jeff Sullivan
8:03
Oh dear
ChatzMcGee
8:03
Osuna hurt.
Henry
8:03
Ugh.
Jeff Sullivan
8:04
Well that certainly blows
For anyone not watching, Encarnacion signaled for the trainer to come out after Osuna's last pitch. He walked off shortly thereafter
The pitch itself was 96mph
8:06
Liriano is in now and Schoop is now out
8:07
Bourn's out, to the bottom of the 10th. I wonder which non-Britton pitcher will pitch
ChatzMcGee
8:08
Ubaldo!
Sgt. Pepper
8:08
What's Jim Palmer up to these days?
ChiefBigWilly
8:09
This looks like OG Liriano
Jeff Sullivan
8:09
O'Day to face Tulo/Upton/Pillar
Carson Cistulli
8:10
We can take for granted that pitchers tend to produce better numbers in relief than as a starter. I wonder how much a guy like Liriano -- who's maybe not as a dominant or precise as he's been in the past -- how much he benefits from the knowledge that he's working in a limited capacity.
8:11
To be clear: I'm just sitting at this table, wondering that.
Gtrope87
8:11
I always wonder how some of these guys come up with these goofy deliveries
Jeff Sullivan
8:11
There's an answer. O'Day dropped down after getting cut in college!
8:12
Justin Smoak pinch-hitting for Melvin Upton, and the crowd applauds, apparently ignorant of Justin Smoak's statistics
Carson Cistulli
8:13
Is it possible that your experience with Smoak as a Mariner colors that comment at all, Sullivan?
Jeff Sullivan
8:13
Looking at the statistics, no
Eric A Longenhagen
8:13
If anyone wants to follow an O'Day-ish prospect I suggest David Berg.
Jeff Sullivan
8:14
By the way, this year, Britton inherited 53 leads, seven ties, and nine deficits
