yes! this should've been my advice
Dave Cameron

Wonder how many more pitches Bumgarner would be allowed to throw than Thor tonight? I'd bet it's at least 30.
august fagerstrom
8:53
recliner is somehow way more comfortable than bed
Sam
8:53
Considering the Giants bullpen I wouldn't take BumBum out before the 15th
august fagerstrom

#BumBum

What would you guess the pitch limits are? 120 for syndergaard and 150 for madbum?
Dave Cameron
8:54
110/140
Or maybe 115/145.
Scott
8:54
Why 30 pitches higher for BumBum?
Dave Cameron
8:54
Thor has the bone spur, is younger, doesn't have Bumgarner's track record of health.
Vic Romano

Taking the over on 6 combined hits allowed for these guys seems like a bad bet at this point...

and giants bullpen sucks
Jt

I know you should evaluate pitchers on batters faced and times through the order and not pitch counts. But when a guy is cruising and guys are swinging at the first pitch can you stretch it? It may take you 5 at bats before you see everything a pitchers got
august fagerstrom
8:56
I think the correct answer is no, it shouldnt change things, but it's also not the human answer
AJ
8:56
Thor'a motion looks very simple and non dangerous for lack of a better word does that bide well for his arm? His motion seems easy
Dave Cameron
8:56
I don't think there's any evidence that we can look at a guy's delivery and determine he'll be fine or not.
august fagerstrom
8:57
I also kind of disagree
It seems like he uses so little of his body
britishcub
8:57
bravo span working that count
august fagerstrom
8:57
Which is a thing scouts don't like, right? Because it puts more stress on the arm? I don't know. I'm out of my element. I don't even know if he uses less body than the average pitcher
Dave Cameron
8:57
Scouts tend to just not like small/skinny guys. Beyond that, I don't know that there's much consensus.
august fagerstrom
8:58
Also any delivery that results in 102MPH is dangerous. Velocity is a killer

"sure thing" -- Stephen Strasburg
sorry
Dave Cameron
8:59
Did he get tagged in the face?
august fagerstrom
8:59
Syndergaard really acting like he can hold baserunners

THOSE GIANTS STOLEN BASES WE WERE WAITING FOR
august fagerstrom
8:59
ha! and then he immedaitely gets thrown out
Bork
8:59
The closeline tag, very effective.
august fagerstrom
8:59
shows what I know
Matt
8:59
He might be safe!
Dave Cameron
8:59
Pretty clearly safe.
Vic Romano
9:00
That might be one of those cases where he very briefly came off the bag between the lead foot and the bag leg.
Dave Cameron
9:00
Think the arm was on.
Jt
9:01
Sliding off the bag is the worst side effect of replay
Dave Cameron
9:01
Agreed.
Uh, ok.
Nick

Giants have to be fuming.
Nick
