I hate Escobar as leadoff for the royals.
Owen Watson
9:43
It has seemed to work for them, though.
Bork
9:44
Pillar will only be leadoff until Travis is back, so at least we've got that to look forward to.
Owen Watson
9:45
Bit worried about Travis, to be honest. Those leading shoulder injuries can be really problematic
Worried about this year, I mean.

Bonds: no, no, no he wouldn't.
Owen Watson
9:45
I wish we could put it to the test

Would you watch a age 40+-only MLB senior tour? I feel like there'd be a real audience for this.
Owen Watson
9:46
Considering I was a fan of Rock 'N Jock softball games, for sure I would. Also former MLB players playing serious wiffle ball games.
Dave
9:46
re: Bonds - I think you're light on the walk rate and high on the average - he'd be shifted pretty heavily
Owen Watson
9:47
You could be right, though he could just hit everything over the fence and solve both problems
Greg
9:47
Is Billy Burns any good? I seem to end up acquiring him in every single ootp sim..
Owen Watson
9:48
One of those guys who shouldn't be good but is, so he's really precarious. Lots of production off first pitch fastballs, and he had the lowest hard-hit rate by a country mile. But he's crazy fast and made it work for almost all of last year, so maybe?
BK
9:48
It should be Saunders in the leadoff for Toronto (If you don't want Tulo there)
Brett Lawrie's Empty Redbull Can

283) The kid from home alone

Gavin
9:49
is this more of the dodgers being good or the padres being bad?
Owen Watson
9:49
Always a little of both, I think
Bork
9:49
Apparently they found what was wrong with Travis and fixed it for good. Or at least that's what the Jays are saying.
Owen Watson
9:49
I really hope so!
Dave
9:49
There are only 2 over 40 players I'd want to watch - Bonds and Clemens
Owen Watson
9:50
I would watch basically any retired ballplayer play, if they wanted to.

vin such a class act, expressing sympathy for the padre pitcher's 6-run debut - ouch, tho
Brett Lawrie's Empty Redbull Can
9:50
Dude. I'd be all about an MLB senior team. They could play an exhibition series against the MLB SeƱor team.
Owen Watson
9:51
I see that question mark enye
Yordano
9:51
Winning doesn't make bad baseball descions good ones. It most likely means you won in spite of that
Owen Watson
9:52
This is most-Royals arguments, but like I've said before, I am willing to grant them some mojo at this point
most anti-Royals arguments*

9:53
Former MLBers playing wiffleball would likely be dominated by Tim Wakefield.
Owen Watson
9:53
Could you throw a no-spin knuckler with a wiffle ball?
vlock1
9:53
Every once in a while, I wonder if Rickey Henderson still works out every day *just in case*
Owen Watson
9:54
The A's have a big head race every game between Rollie Fingers, Henderson, and Eckersley. I am always outraged when Rickey doesn't win
And Rollie has more career wins by a lot! Ridiculous
Bowa
9:55
Expectations on Utley this season?
Owen Watson
9:55
Very little

I hear some football people taking about baseball saber and they don't understand it but recognize that it shed light on the sport. Which about half of the baseball community doesn't even do.
Owen Watson
9:55
I like to imagine myself in 30 years complaining about the new fangled stats in baseball and decrying kids for not thinking WAR is good enough

Kiermaier 0 and 2, draws a walk. Kiermaier will be top 5 in MVP voting
