I love that they used the Imperial March when the Cubs came in. Because when I think of evil baseball empires, the Cubs are the first team that comes to mind.

When napoli got announced it felt like it was about the 6th time he was in the world series... turns out its only 3 but with 3 different teams so still impressive

So this might actually be the first WS game that I've watched. It is at least the first one in 15+ years. It might have something to do with growing up in the dark ages of the O's and not really caring about post season baseball as a kid.

Hi everyone! Be right there.

Great, so half of those sweet old people will be profoundly disappointed in the outcome and probably die soon thereafter.

How excited are you to see Kyle Schwarber tonight?
Dave Cameron
8:03
One of the more fun parts of the series.
8:04
Jon Lester is "the hottest pitcher in baseball", because Andrew Miller doesn't exist, apparently.
Stuafoo

Is there much of a precedent for Schwarber's situation? At least with any success?
Dave Cameron
8:04
Nope! That's why it's fun.

This is gonna be really really fun. I'm cheering for Chicago, but there is really no losers in this series. Baseball! Love it!

Cubs fan here, was not expecting it but actually got chills watching Schwarber come out during intros

I like how we're all friendly right now. It's a nice feeling that I expect will last approximately 5 minutes into the game.

Yea I'm a Cubs fan, but Cleveland is a likable team. Gonna be fins as hell.

Expected MVP of the series for both sides and darkhorse sleeper on both sides? I am guessing Miller or Bryant and Kluber or Zobrist.
Dave Cameron

If Indians win, it's probably because their offense goes nuts, so I'll go Lindor or Santana with Cleveland. If the Cubs win, it's probably going to be a pitcher; I'll go with Hendricks.

BTW, hi Bork.

Which starter gets more K's? Who lasts longer?
Dave Cameron
8:07
Kluber more Ks, Lester goes deeper, because Andrew Miller isn't lurking behind him.

Thoughts on Coghlan getting the start? Didn't expect that one.

Will Carson be doing any of these? Is it in his contract that he only gets to talk tangentially about baseball?
Dave Cameron
8:08
Sunday! Eric and Carson are doing game five.

Andrew Miller gets used just as aggressively down 1 or 2 runs, right?
Dave Cameron
8:08
Yep, score doesn't really matter.
8:09
As long as its close-ish.

I agree that Coghlan starting is super weird.
Though I'm biased in that I don't like Coghlan since he likes to take the knees out from under Asian ballplayers.
8:10
For the record, I say Cubs in 6, but I want it to be Indians in 7.
Not ready to let go of this season!

Also, for those who haven't live blogged with us before, this is less like a chat than the weekday Q&As we do, so don't get mad if we don't publish your question.

Does Bryant normally bat 2nd?
Dave Cameron

We'll definitely publish your comments, but this isn't a strict Q&A.

Joe Buck said something about the dwindling amount of #1 starters in baseball over the years...that doesn't actually make numeric sense
Dave Cameron

It's also just wrong, even the way he defines it.
Baseball is full of dominant starting pitchers right now.
