i agree. I would have liked them to enforce it consistently, but people complained and then they stopped.

Blocking the plate, pace of play, slide rule.
Game 7

He came off bag after hitting fielder its within the rule
Jeff Sullivan

Heyward pops up. Keeps looking for that swing that will make everyone forget his regular season
Craig Edwards
6:17
you were supposed to have to make an effort to stay on the bag.
Kamer Unkin Goebbel Midong
6:18
It didn't break up any kind of double play attempt after the horrid throw, so would have been safe even when they were calling it
Craig Edwards
6:18
that isn't the way the rule was written, though.
or enforced early in the year.

Cubs win expectancy right now: 70%

Davis took a terrible route. Might have been able to catch that one with a better read.
Jeff Sullivan

One thing the Indians have lacked this year is an actual center fielder
Craig Edwards

and one of August's last posts requested Naquin stay in.
Jeff Sullivan

Their great defense is all in the infield but Kluber's been yielding everything in the air

Do the Indians CFers practice fly balls?

let Hendricks go longer now? or better that Ross' spot won't be up for a turn so go Lester?
Jeff Sullivan

Follow the original script, ignore the score

Who maintains the fangraphs snapchat? Do I want to see you nerds' pictures?
Sean Dolinar

August has it for the WS. We take turns based on the events. But Michelle Jay coordinates most of the social media when there isn't an event.

Is Cistulli on suicide watch?
Craig Edwards
6:21
It's a hit about half the time, and a home run on 2/3 of those. It's a high angle so it gets caught a lot.
Jeff Sullivan
6:21
Cistulli does not take major-league baseball anywhere close to that seriously
Curious Doge
6:22
Does Naquin execute that throw home and catch that Contreras ball?
Craig Edwards
6:22
those are questions Cleveland fans might be asking for a long time.
Sean Dolinar
6:22
Is Cistulli even watching tonight?
Jeff Sullivan
6:22
Good question!
6:23
Passively, probably
JC

So what's the plan for the Cubs from here? One more out of Hendricks, three from Lester, two from Chapman?
Jeff Sullivan
6:23
Maybe Lester into the seventh, Chapman in relief of him whenever necessary
Wolfie

I think it's stressful right now because I don't want this game to get out of hand and be boring. Stay interesting game 7!
Jaime

Who would you take: Cleveland's relief corps or Chicago's? (including everyone who is available/likely to pitch tonight)
Jeff Sullivan
6:23
Cleveland. Except that now it's sort of almost too late

can't wait til this is over--not the series, the politcal ads
Jeff Sullivan
6:24
As soon as these ads are over, then we get our first ads for 2020

6:25
how many swing and misses total did kluber get?
Jeff Sullivan
6:25
Three. He threw 38% fastballs
We're through four. 3-1 Cubs; easy half-inning for Hendricks
Bronn

Craig: he was still right next to the bag. He didn't slide nowhere near the bag or slide way through it to where he couldn't keep it. Just because he didn't keep the bag doesn't mean he could not.
Craig Edwards
6:26
Rule: “is able and attempts to remain on the base (except home plate) after completion of the slide.”
