Strasburg put the "soft" story in the ground today.
And everyone who pushed it the last few years should be embarrassed.
/end rant
John Autin
8:22
Yeah, but we still have the Kershaw narrative. :-)
Nelson
8:22
What about the Kershaw and Price playoff underperformance story?
Dave Cameron
8:22
All of it is BS.
8:23
Great players are great players. They are great players because they've already proven they can play under pressure.
No one plays in October if they can't handle pressure.
Mattingly's Sideburns

I know batting lineups make a minimal difference but having Werth and Kipnis bat 2nd seems less than ideal.
Dave Cameron
8:23
Yeah, batting order is overrated, but these are not great decisions.
Hello Dave
8:24
Did Jose Ramirez get replaced by the RP from the Braves?
Julio Pepper
8:24
CC lookin sharp.
weezy
8:24
it's amazing how mediocre the Indians lineup looks right now
Jesse
8:24
In the case of Werth the bigger issue is that he's starting in the first place.

I’m not sure how I feel about these live blogs. I’m in the chats at work but now I feel like I should be working.

This is an excellent day as a Dodger fan, the Cubs used Lester for 55 pitches and now the Nats will play a game 5 with a so-so starter and the ability to use Scherzer in relief.   Whoever wins will have a wrecked NLCS rotation.
Dave Cameron
8:26
Yup.
Scherzer is 100% pitching tomorrow.
I'd guess it goes Gio/Scherzer/Madson/Doolittle, and everyone else watches.
Zack
8:26
I'm pro-bullpenning, but if (IF!) CC looks like this in the 3rd, I can't take him out.
Dave Cameron
8:27
I'd let him get up to 9 outs.
If he goes up 9, 9 down, I'm still not letting him face Lindor unless they're up 10 or something.
Jabroni
8:27
That's a bold prediction considering Dusty is making the decisions.
Dave Cameron
8:28
Dusty takes too much crap. He pulled Scherzer at the right time in Game 3, pulled Stras at the right time in Game 4.
He does some dumb stuff, but he's not an idiot.
Bobert
8:29
Who do the Yankees go to first after CC?
Dave Cameron
8:29
Green, probably
I'd guess it goes Green/Kahnle/Robertson/Chapman
Factory of Sadness
8:29
Is there any manager that doesn't do some dumb stuff?
Dave Cameron
8:29
Nope
Sterling Mallory Chris Archer
8:29
What if CC looked like he was on his very top game putting down 9 straight? How big is the difference between 4th inning CC vs the next reliever in?
Dave Cameron
8:29
History shows "being on your game" isn't really predictive.
8:30
And CC is just not at the level of any of NYY's RPs
Zack
8:30
A non-zero reason I'm nervous about pulling CC is I really think Girardi will use Jaime Garcia at some point and I'll be under the desk
Dave Cameron
8:30
I doubt you see Garcia today unless the game goes 132 innings
Bobert
8:31
Why doesn’t Girardi seem to trust Betances anymore?  That slurve is deadly.
Dave Cameron
8:31
He worked his way back into the circle of trust, then he threw like 5 pitches to the backstop in Game 4.
Tommy toms
8:31
What manager does the least dumb stuff?
Dave Cameron
8:31
Dave Roberts
Geoff Williams
8:32
If all the Yankees pitchers were fresh, and CC was out of the bullpen (Severino starting), where would you rank him? Chap, Green, Robertson, Kahnle ahead of him. Anyone else?
