Anyone watching ESPN broadcast? Why do they keep showing announcers? They're nice, but not more important than the game.
Ryan DC
12:31
Does anyone else find ESPN cutting back to the announcer's booth every 15 seconds absolutely unbearable? It totally disrupts the flow of the game broadcast
Eric A Longenhagen
12:31
Okay, I'm putting on the ESPN cast here, too.
12:33
JC Ramirez warming in one bullpen, Ryan Madson warming in the other.

Doo with the specs

12:33
I just spent opening day not watching any baseball, but this chat was just as good as the real thing

12:34
ok, so you graded out all these prospects, but can you tell me how ocean currents have helped population genetic structure in fish?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:34
Not, but I'd be interested to know, specifically, what they've done to sharks.
12:35
Although I think I could guess based on looking at some of the ones who migrate huge distances and ones that don't
5 Run Homer
12:35
JC Ramirez sounds like a character in a 90's kids sports movie
Eric A Longenhagen
12:35
He was once part of the Cliff Lee deal, sent from Seattle to Philly.
Matt
12:36
Sorry, all out of questions. The Angels just don't have much in the way of prospects worth talking about.
Eric A Longenhagen
12:37
I finished their list today and I have the list at 14.
Here, you guys are still hanging around:
Jahmai Jones
Brandon Marsh
Matt Thaiss
Chris Rodriguez
Alex Meyer
Nate Smith
Jamie Barria
Keynan Middleton
Nonie Williams
Julio Garcia
David Fletcher
Jake Jewell
Taylor Ward
Michael Hermosillo

I'm also reading a paper on (lemon) sharks that go back to their birthplace to breed!!
Eric A Longenhagen
12:38
I used to lie on my out of office auto response at my day job and say I was tagging lemon sharks in Florida when I was really at Fall League games.
12:39
Ryan Madson entering for Trout.
Michael P
12:39
Oakland's list soon as well?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:39
They're last. But yes, soon. Like next 14 days and I'll be done with everyone.
Matt
12:39
NO JOHN SCHUKNECHT!?!?! #fakenews
Eric A Longenhagen
12:40
You're right, I should double check on that.
I didn't see him this spring.
Cakers
12:40
Of the 6 teams (AL West and Toronto) yet to be published, which team do you think will be most interesting?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:40
Houston
Shirtless George Brett
12:41
The Royals system seems to be depressingly mediocre. Can you give me someone in their system interesting to watch?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:42
Trout's worst at-bat of the night and the guy doubles.
12:43
DJ Burt is a lot of fun
12:44
Interesting that Cron's pull-heavy approach allows Lowrie to play really close to the bag and thus hold Trout there as well, keeping him an extra step away from home in the event of a hit.
12:45
Alas, fielder's choice, inning over.
Go Thaiss Go
12:45
What's a realistic outcome for me?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:46
I think there are three: 1) You rake enough to profile at first even with mediocre power, 2) you don't, 3) You destroy the Cal League this spring and are traded if the big club is competitive.
Tom
12:46
Which list is tougher, a system like the angels where you are scraping for guys at the bottom, or a system like the yankees or padres where everyone in the system is interesting?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:46
Angels are harder to do, Yankees/Padres systems take longer.
5 Run Homer
12:46
No effing way is his name DJ Burt
Eric A Longenhagen
12:46
Dawon Burt, shortened to DJ
GS
12:48
thoughts on Brandon Marsh? What are your grades for him?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:48
Arguably the most upside in the system, chance for 6 raw, 6 run
Khris Davis has doen it again.
12:49
Davis was on the first-pitch slider Ramirez threw him. Revisionist history yeah, but that's on Maldonado, too.
