They do not.

Do y'all miss Big Papi? Who takes over his role? Anybody?
Paul Swydan
1:42
There's this new left fielder with long hair...
Shirtless George Brett

Mlb.tv showing 50 cents terrible first pitch during commercial breaks is awesome. They should make this a regualr thing.
JJP

I have a job with a TV in my office and MLB extra innings. I am unproductive today. Don't tell my boss.
Dave Cameron
1:43
Their fault for tempting you.
Paul Swydan
1:44
Totally on them. Also, is your company hiring?

Will Bradley Jr be a low-in-the-order bat all year, or could you envision him eventually getting bumped to the top third?
Paul Swydan
1:45
5-6 is probably the best he does. A) They have plenty of good hitters. B) Farrell doesn't much care for Bradley.
Bradley didn't take off as a major leaguer until Lovullo was the interim manager at the end of 2015.

Markakis isnt very good? He's a league average player at worst. Maybe you should watch more baseball. Or maybe look at his statistics. And I hate the Braves.
Dave Cameron
1:46
Markakis has been worth >2 WAR in one of the last six seasons.
Paul Swydan
1:46
Yeah. He was very good in 2008. 2008 was a long time ago.
Will

Heyward didn't look like he improved much of anything in his ABs last night, still looks uncomfortable in the batters box
Dave Cameron
1:47
Who did look comfortable against Carlos Martinez?
PD
1:48
How much rope does Glasnow get as the 5th starter?
Dave Cameron
1:48
Probably depends a bit on their bullpen too. If Watson flops at closer, might be some pressure to move him to RP if he's struggling.

Where are the NERD scores? How am I supposed to know what games to watch?!
Paul Swydan
1:49
Carson usually doesn't debut the NERD scores until the end of April, if memory serves.
Brian
1:49
Hudson and Rivero cant fill the closer role?
Dave Cameron
1:49
Hudson is a replacement level reliever and managers don't like using LHPs as closers if they don't have to.
Shirtless George Brett
1:50
Volquez with a line drive single. The pitcher hitting revolution is happening!

Quintana looking PRETTY GOOD in the Yanks eyes after that Tanaka meltdown yesterday
Paul Swydan
1:51
Come on, be better than that. One game is one game. I remember Pedro gave up like 400 runs on Opening Day in 2002. He somehow went back to being awesome in his next start.
Bert Campaneris

I was born outside of the US. After a life of watching the game objectively and only rooting for players that hail from my homeland, I decided to root for a team (mainly because I wanted to pass on my daughter a "fandom"). I chose the team whose affiliate is within a 10 mile range of the place I call home now. Am I doing "fandom" wrong?
Dave Cameron
1:51
There's no way to do fandom wrong.
Root for who you want to.
And if people don't like it, who cares?
Paul Swydan
1:51
Agreed.

Mark Melancon was the closer I was most worried about going into the season. Remember Jim Johnson a few years back when he went from Baltimore to Oakland? That's what's going to happen to Melancon.
Paul Swydan
1:52
Bold prediction.

bird or hosmer
Dave Cameron
1:53
Bird.
DG
1:53
Dave, is this the first time you've experienced Opening Day on the West Coast? If so, how are you liking that morning baseball?
Dave Cameron
1:53
I grew up in Seattle.

and gary sanchez looks like hell be worse than jt realmuto
Paul Swydan
1:54
It's JT Realmuto's world. We're just living in it.
Henry
1:55
Hosme has a much higher floor than Bird though doesn't he?
Dave Cameron
1:55
He's been a replacement level player in like three of his six years in the big leagues.
Wendell

PSA: Noah Syndergaard has an 80 change up now. That is all, good luck everyone.
