I agree. I think my seats - right behind the Sox bullpen near the Triangle - are one of the best in the ballpark.

Trea Turner highlight alert.

2:31
Trea Turner might be good at baseball
Paul Swydan
2:31
Oh that was pretty.

Also you can go to an NBA game for $35-$40 here in Toronto. Again when you compare where you're actually sitting and the view, the value is pretty close when compared to baseball. Baseball is not "cheap' by any measure, especially here in Toronto. No tailgaiting here and beers are $12-$14 a piece. Slice of Pizza is $7.

You live in a very expensive city.

Volquez now 2-2 off Stras, just like we all predicted
Paul Swydan
2:33
The cost of baseball depends greatly on whether the team lets you bring in outside food. Coors Field does, Fenway doesn't. That's a factor for sure. But most ballparks have cheap eats *nearby* at the very least.

Gordon's speed + Murphy's arm = no double play.
Paul Swydan

Hanley gets Boston's first hit.
Dave Cameron
2:34
I wonder how hard Gordon would have to hit a ball for Daniel Murphy to double him up.
Anthony

You can bring food into the Rogers Centre. They just started doing it last year. I actually had forgotten about that. Good point.

The Mariners have gone nuts with context-aware ticket pricing. Cheapest Home Opener seats are ~$40, about double the normal rate
Dave Cameron
2:35
That's a good thing. Otherwise, the profit just ends up going to scalpers, which is bad for everyone.

The best seats in Fenway Are Section 30-32, Left field foul pole but I must admit the Monster experience is like no other.
Paul Swydan
2:36
Those are nice too, but those are all the old wood seats, right?
Mark Reynolds 2-run homer!

Brewers announcers just mentioned that Pitcher velo was being picked up closer to release, and said that MPH readings will probably all be bumped up by 1 MPH. Where did these rumors come from?
Paul Swydan
2:36
Hanging breaking ball on the outer half and Reynolds pulled it.
Dave Cameron
2:36
Clearly this is a talking point that someone told the TV guys.
2:37
Could be that this is just how the PITCHF/x (camera) to Trackman (radar) switch was explained.
2:39
Harper into the wall.
Yelich smoked that.

It doesn't seem ideal to bat Moreland infront of Bogarts
Paul Swydan
2:39
Don't you worry, Mitch Moreland is going to hit 400 doubles off of the Green Monster this year. John Farrell said so!

2:39
Bryce Harper made kind of a meal out of that though
Joe
2:40
If you park, get decent seats, and get food and beer, it's about 100-120 bucks for two people to go to a game at Camden Yards. There are ways to do it cheaper of course, but it's tough (especially with online ticket fees).

Need context! What team is Mark Reynolds on this year?
Dave Cameron
2:40
Rockies.
Starting 1B while Desmond is hurt.
Paul Swydan
2:40
I definitely keep costs down by finding a meter or neighborhood spot and walking about a mile each way. I refuse to pay $40-50 for parking.
2:41
Sorry! I should have said Reynolds was on the Rockies.
Z
2:42
Gerrit Cole up to 99 according to the gun on NESN.
Jake
2:42
99 from Cole

Bryce Harper made a highlight out of a catch that had a 90% catch probability. Doing it wrong
Erik
2:42
That's a good example of why catch probability needs to take the wall into account.
Clay Suckholz
2:42
Please tell me Harper didn't hurt himself!!!
Paul Swydan
2:43
Please Harper don't hurt 'em
LudeBurger

Jeff Sullivan's most intriguing sleeper pick, Keon Broxton, up to bat!
Chris

Frazier another 2 strike hit. All aboard
