Somewhat off topic, but how bad is replacement level pitching these days? Liriano has thrown 80+ innings of 4.72 FIP, yet is worth 0.8 WAR. Yunel Escobar, a league average hitter with average defense at 3B, has been worth the exact same in 364 PA. How does that make sense?

But the Liriano trade is interesting for me because he is apparently going to be used as a reliever
I just wrote up that trade for the Site
He has a 27% K-BB against lefties this year ... a 4.8% mark (LOL) against righties

The only thing Liriano has consistently and effectively done in his career is take care of left-handed hitters so I kind of like this for the Astros
