Yes, that does sound about right. Maybe a little high on the dollars, but in that ballpark. I wouldn't be surprised if he stayed in Cincy. Peraza and Alcantara aren't really blowing anyone away.

Hey Paul, I calculated surplus value for Sonny Gray and I only got about $58 million. Yes, this is more valuable when placed on the fun part on the win cycle, but Quintana was worth $100 million. Gray is not as long term as people think because his arb salaries might be highish.

I would think especially with Straily. He hasn't even reached arbitration yet, so he has 3-4 controllable years left, and given his track record, he probably won't earn as much as he should in arb.

Probably that's all they could get. But also Toronto's LF is bad, and Aoki is under contract for next year. In other words, don't expect Toronto to spend a ton of money this winter. Not like they're in one of baseball's biggest markets or anything.

Well, a catcher who can hit should be the priority. Vazquez and Leon are pretty good at the catching part of catching, they just can't hit worth a damn.
I am constantly perplexed that we hear NOTHING about them trying to upgrade at catcher.
Most likely the deal isn't there, but there's not even any chatter about it.

Posey IS the San Francisco Giants. You'd have to overpay by a significant margin in order for the Giants to sell it to their fans.
