Mr. Jones

This Clayton Kershaw guy is pretty good.
Jeff Sullivan
6:34
George Springer definitely doesn't *look* like a guy with a two-strike approach
Eno Sarris
6:34
nah
Hunky Dory

This is the pace baseball should always move at.

6:34
This all feels weirdly chill and relaxed somehow, like it's a random Thursday evening in May. Maybe because of the pace? Idk
Jeff Sullivan
6:35
I think Game 1 is always a little underwhelming in terms of the feeling. The series needs time to build
Also, it's been all pitching and two solo homers
Eno Sarris
6:35
It's loud here, but yeah I mean more things could have happened, at least offensively, think of guys on base and stress that way...

6:35
The pace of this game is amazing so far.
Jeff Sullivan
6:35
This is why people aren't wrong when they complain about baseball usually going too slow
Look what it's like when it's fast!
6:36
Slow baseball can be great, but fast baseball is *usually* great

6:36
I'd like to see more balls in play and baserunners, please.
Jeff Sullivan
6:36
73 pitches for Kershaw, and he's through six
BK
6:36
Vasgersian and Buck Martinez are an absolute treat
Jeff Sullivan
6:37
I love Matt Vasgersian
Have for a while. Such a joy
Scott Wood
6:37
I know the Dodgers are "good" but are they NL good or like MLB good?
Jeff Sullivan
6:37
They are a legitimately great baseball team. When Kershaw is healthy, as he appears, they're a juggernaut
But the Astros are also a juggernaut! Can there be coexisting juggernauts? I don't know the etymology here

Quickest WS game this century was 152 minutes -- 2010 Game 5, Giants 3, Rangers 1, Lincecum def. Lee.
Jeff Sullivan
6:38
Cliff Lee was the most satisfying pitcher in baseball there for a few years
Eno Sarris
6:38
scully just got a standing o
Glenn
6:38
Surprising that there's only 2 runs in this heat?
Jeff Sullivan
6:38
Pitchers > heat
Jerj Clooners
6:39
Jeff, were you out on Taylor at the time of his trade or did you think he still had this success in him?
Jeff Sullivan
6:39
Never thought he had this in him, but that was before we really understood what was happening league-wide. Evaluating middling young hitters now is tremendously difficult
First-pitch out for Barnes. What a game this is!
BJOGC
6:40
This game is going to get through 9 innings in 2.5 hours but then go 17 innings just to spite us all
Jeff Sullivan
6:40
So to confirm: first pitch temperature was 103. Hottest playoff game on record
Eno Sarris
6:40
board still says 99
Jeff Sullivan
6:40
I bet it's like 110 on the field
Fangraphs lurker
6:40
gatorade pays mlb to have the pitchers wrap their arms in gatorade marked towels in order to advertise.
Jeff Sullivan
6:41
At this time I think the Division Series games were in like the top of the third
Park Chan ho's Beard
6:41
how would you describe Kershaw's/Keuchel's performance right now? Are they cruising? Wheeling? Dealing? Breezing?
Jeff Sullivan
6:41
I'd go with cruising, with breezing in my back pocket
Eno Sarris
6:42
state I'm in I'd probably try to be smart and say wheezing
Jeff Sullivan
6:42
Hitters are all wheezing out there
ChatzMcGee
6:43
How good would Kershaw be if he had like, I dunno, Strasburg’s changeup?
Jeff Sullivan
6:43
Too
