Does Altuve have the shift positioning in his hat?
Craig Edwards
8:30
to make him look taller? Rude.

I think home field advantage should go to whatever league had the better record in inter-league play
Craig Edwards
8:32
the all-star game is better than that, i think. i don't want to watch some random padres-mariners game and think it has an affect on where game 1 of the world series would be. best record i think is the best.

What was the best recent WS pitching matchup? On paper, Keuchel/Kershaw has to be up there
Craig Edwards
8:33
Kluber-Lester and Kluber-Hendricks last year were pretty good.

Hot Take: Reverse splits are never predictive.

On oranges..it is Minute Maid (orange juice) Park. Not random

The Marlins Man who attended playoff games this year appears younger than the Marlins Man from  a couple of years ago.  It does not look like the same Man.

Craig how long until you start hating on John smoltz?
Craig Edwards
8:34
he's a hall of famer, tommy.

Feels really lame that the Astros are still doing the "thumbs up" celebration to mock the Yankees
Craig Edwards
8:35
you don't stop doing it if you are winning. What are they supposed to start doing, kissing bats?

How many players choke up like Bregman does?
Craig Edwards
8:36
not many, although I think with how powerful players are and the current ball, players can get plenty of force when choking up so more might start.

what about best interleague record of the two teams, with a tie-breaker of better record?
Craig Edwards

only in day games.

Lincecum/Lee gets my vote
Hello Craig
8:39
If we rank the players in the series I really think the AL MVP is 4th. Kershaw, Correa, Seager, Altuve.
Craig Edwards
8:39
Bold. If you are going this season, hard to argue Altuve wasn't the best.

Which pitcher is more fun to watch?

Yu Darvish (50% | 73 votes)

Lance McCullers, Jr. (50% | 73 votes)

hotter take: reverse splits dont even exist.

I'm not sure what this means, but I look forward to reading it in your next newsletter, which I would like to subscribe to.

Dodgers hitting McCullers well...Astros hitting Darvish well...this could turn into a slugfest...if that happens, advantage goes to Dodgers with their deeper / more reliable bullpen, yes?
Craig Edwards
8:42
I'm not sure the Dodgers bullpen outside of Jansen is actually that much better. Astros have had a tough go of it lately, but there are still good pitchers back there.

What did you think about Smoltz's stint with the Cardinals?
Craig Edwards
8:43
He tried hard, had a bit of bad luck, not unlike the Cardinals that year.
John

Springer has been doing the thumbs up for quite some time.
hscer
8:43
are we sure thumbs up isn't just, like, a completely standard show of approval?
Uncle Jimbo

Marwin Gonzales was choked up when he hit the tying homerun the other night.

Seager chokes up
Oswald
8:44
The Astros are tipping pitches at home. They plant a tv in the tunnel right before game time and hit a pole with a bat to correspond to the pitch. The two thumbs up they give when they get on indicates they got the signal. See springer leading off.
Craig Edwards

i'm interested in your newsletter as well.

Did you see the SBnation about the worst postseason commercials? It was a pretty solid article
Craig Edwards

grant is good.

8:45
Where would you rank Correa in terms of best shortstops? Gotta be top five at the least, in my non-important opinion.
Craig Edwards
8:46
there's a good argument to be made he is number 1.

How happy are the announcers that the small guy in the WS is an an actual good player for once? No need to pretend anymor that Ryan Theriot or Darin Erstad are valuable as well as tiny
Craig Edwards
8:46
I'd like to remind you that David Eckstein was World Series MVP. Also, Erstad was tall.
