Goooood evening. We're here in the PG newsroom and just ordered food. Let's roll.

What's up everyone? Time for the NFL draft. Not sure if you heard, but the latest scuttlebutt is that Tom Brady's retiring, New England's moving up to No. 1 overall and will begin the Bakey Mayfield era.

How bad do the Browns screw up this year?
Sean Gentille
8:01
Brian ordered some shrimp thing. Extremely soft. No grit.
Brian Batko
8:01
I'm reasonably confident that they'll choose Josh Darnfield and it will be a good pick.

Is there any chance the Steelers would trade up for a top notch quarterback or linebacker? What about trading Bell in order to move up?
Sean Gentille
8:02
It seriously seems like they've moved off Josh Allen which seems ... wise. That'd qualify as screwing it up -- choosing a terminally inaccurate QB who likes tweeting racist stuff.
Brian Batko
8:03
Ernie, thanks for joining us from LA. There's always a chance of the Steelers trading up, I guess, but I don't see that happening, though they did do it for Troy Polamalu way back when. Especially the Bell part.

Fun fact about Josh Allen: He has never completed 60 percent of his passes. Not in college, not in high school. Possibly not in middle school, though who can say for sure there.
Brian Batko
8:03
Hey Sean, for the record, I moved off my shrimp lettuce wraps order and went with blackened salmon sliders. The shrimp wraps were a smokescreen.

Wot is this?
Brian Batko

We're still figuring that out, J Dawg

Evening all

Allen has a bazooka, and he's tall as hell. That is, no joke, the only thing he has going for him. In almost every other category, he's deficient. So, again ... I assume the Browns are gonna pick him.

How many of these top qbs can become superstars leading bad teams? If AZ snags one does he have the best chance?
Sean Gentille
8:07
Goodell is a shameless dork.
Brian Batko
8:07
Really like this QB class, Matt. The big four have what they have, but I think someone like Lamar Jackson or Mason Rudolph could end up in a great spot for themselves with whichever team picks them.
Sean Gentille
8:07
How much of a doofus do you gotta be to indirectly get Roger Staubach booed in Dallas?
Brian Batko
8:09
Browns are on the clock, and I'm reminded of how boring this was last year. Something called Myles Garrett was the odds-on favorite to go 1, the QB du jour was Mitch Trubisky and that's about all I can remember.
Sean Gentille
8:09
And Brian and I were here, in these chairs, doing this exact thing. Life is short. Life is so very short.

Do you see any chance we draft a RB like Guice and let Bell walk? He wants a guaranteed salary twice that of other RB's but he's not twice as good in my opinion.
Tim
8:09
Do you think the Steelers will draft a runningback in this draft?
Brian Batko
8:10
Two questions about the Steelers looking at RBs. Personally, I don't see them doing the Guice thing in the first, but if they do, obviously that'll be a shot across the bow at James Conner. As for later in the draft, sure, it could happen, though I probably wouldn't spend a pick at that position.
Sean Gentille
8:11
There absolutely is a chance that they draft an RB. I think Mayock had them taking Sony Michel. If it were out of the question, that wouldn't happen. Do I think it'd be stupid? Sure. The window is short, and they have a great RB for at least one year, overpaid or not, with other holes to fill. But it probably isn't out of the question.

LVE is both bigger and faster then Evans - check out height weight 40 time short shuttle his frame hasn't filled in, one year of strength/conditioning and you have the next great steel curtain linebacker - a little of both Jack Lambert / Jack Ham he is far better at coverage then Evans

Baker Mayfield just answered his phone on Instagram. No joke.

Cleveland has had all off-season to make the number one pick why is it taking them so long?
Brian Batko
8:14
Great point, Something that isn't brought up enough in these drafts imo
Sean Gentille
8:15
They wait because they can. Maybe someone makes a late call offering something insane. No reason not to at least leave it open.
Brian Batko
8:17
Pick is in, and it's Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield from Oklahoma. Probably the most Johnny Football-esque guy in this draft, so that's interesting. Week 1 in Cleveland, folks.
pdxJaxon

Baker Mayfield = Johnny Manziel II
Marty
8:17
WOW  Browns pick Manziel Jr
Sean Gentille
8:18
Being short and a little bit of a jackass does not make a QB Johnny Manziel II.

Browns screw it up again

And that is why they are the Browns!
