It's weird timing, until you remember that they got more than they should've. You don't need ulterior motives to do that. Doesn't mean they don't have them, but still.
Like, we're all sitting here trying to figure out what the domino is, and there might not be one. They could've just saw a deal they couldn't pass up.

The 11th pick in the third ground is tremendous value for Bryant with his issues. He is a great talent but too many questions.

I was a pretty big defender of his, too ... until the Twitter fingers came out last season re: JuJu. Gotta do it.

And yeah, that's the obvious conclusion to draw. Maybe they knew that Evans was gonna be the last ILB standing so they had to load up and move to get him. But still - 75th pick is the 75th pick, whether they use it as bait or not.

You keep players until they're more trouble than they're worth. Bryant was WR3, and Bell is the best RB in the league.

Wideout depth in this draft considered to be pretty solid. Calvin Ridley, DJ Moore, Courtland Sutton, James Washington, Christian Kirk, Anthony Miller, DJ Chark, Deon Cain all highly thought of. Maybe not where Steelers go in the first round, but might've been a wise move to free yourself up to go WR in this draft.
