Baseball Prospectus used to have a Fair Run Average stat that was based on Run Expectancy for bequeathed/inherited, and did away with earned/unearned. I loved that. but it's gone.

i have to admit that ever since then, i've kind of enjoyed watching Joe Kelly fail to fulfill his potential despite great stuff. 7 seasons in the majors, one with 1.0 WAR or better.

While not baseball related, it's disheartening to see how many people trashed the decision by the Giants to go for 2 last night because of the "damn analytics" when in fact the calculation to show why it's a good idea  is very simple and easy to see

I think he basically just tweaked his changeup grip and then he threw a zillion good changeups
