You know your Utah beers. Philley is just my favorite team

Can we add extra adds to Pedro Baez's Fangraphs page so it takes longer to load?

I grew up in SLC (1973-88) and my parents are still there. I wouldn't move back home if you paid me but 1-2 visits a year is great, and watching a craft beer culture come to life there, amid the overarching conservative culture, has been gratifying.

Are we piling on with the Baez digs, or is there just so much more time to comment?
Jeff Sullivan
11:28
In Baez's defense, he (1) is pretty good, and (2) isn't the only slow worker in the majors

Uintas Hop Nosh was always a solid go-to if you lived near Utah.
Jeff Sullivan
11:29
Here's Alex Wood, who's like Chris Sale without any of the anything
AvatarJay Jaffe
11:29
I get Hop Nosh here in NYC. it's part of the rotation.
Jeff Sullivan

Ding dong!
AvatarJay Jaffe
11:29
Alex Wood has been flat out dreadful out of the bullpen
Meg Rowley
11:29
Oh dear
Jeff Sullivan
11:30
That pitch was low and out of the zone. Delmon Young special
Grandawful
11:30
Alex Wood is bad

BASEBALL RUN AWAY

Seems like game
Meg Rowley
11:30
Very pleased Nunez didn't hurt his (vague lower body something) while running the bases.

that's wood's 3rd HR allowed in 4.1 IP this fall. He's got the hat trick, one allowed in each round, so there's that.
Baseball Run Away
(that's what my daughter calls a home run)

Sorry it took so long, here is the bat boy giving the card to Pederson
Meg Rowley

Thank you!

As much as we'd all like the Dodgers to steal this one, Jay, it doesn't look as likely now.  Oh btw, Jankees lose.

"if Baez gets out of this at least." - important caveat.
Grandawful
11:33
Alex Wood is making a good case to be a starter next year by being bad out of the bullpen
Hank
11:34
Baez vs Devers or Wood vs Nunez seems like an easy call.   Roberts hasn't been great tonight.
Mike
11:34
There's an argument that Wood  not Ferguson should have been left off.   I wish I had made it. Hes been putrid since August
Matt
11:34
I have to say ... MLB is attempting to sell their game on a national stage ... and as much as I liked him as a player, John Smoltz is a terrible, brutal, awful color commentator
Jeff Sullivan
11:34
Four-hour games also do them no good in that regard
AvatarJay Jaffe
11:34
Yeah i raised my eyebrows at swapping Alexander in for Ferguson, who has pitched well in his spots.
Jeff Sullivan

Wonder how Brian Cashman feels when he sees Dave Dombrowski's hair
AvatarJay Jaffe
11:35
as I noted in my Jansen/Kimbrel piece today, the move of the surplus starters to the bullpen  — Maeda, Wood and Stripling — really hasn't paid off for the Dodgers. Their bullpen was solid down the stretch and in the first 2 rounds in spite of that, not because of it.
Meg Rowley
11:36
I am jealous of Dombrowski's hair, and my hair is pretty good.
Scuffy Mcgee
11:36
Wood going to be "injured" after this game and caleb Ferguson added?
Jeff Sullivan
11:36
I would definitely not put that past them! No one manipulates the injury rules like the Dodgers
AvatarJay Jaffe
11:37
It only matters for Cashman because his many world series rings scratch his scalp when he runs his fingers over it.
Tyler
11:37
I does not help that kids on the east coast can not watch the end of these games, hell they can not even watch the middle.
Meg Rowley
11:37
Four time zones makes things tricky.
AvatarJay Jaffe
11:37
would you let your children watch this mess? Shame on you
Hal
11:37
I know "process over results" and all but relievers giving up homers after a mid-inning pitching change is always so funny to me
