I have a feeling we'll see Voth before the series is out. Not today unless we go to extras, though.
Ben Kaspick
11:13
Voth was left off the roster if I'm not mistaken.

Voth is off the roster.
Ben Kaspick
11:13
Joe Ross taking that role
AvatarDan Szymborski

My neural network nicknames list has the actual rosters.

Rainey saved 1 out for the Hudson/Doolittle combo without losing the game.   That is almost a smashing success.

11:15
sure, but now it's an even run lead.
AvatarDan Szymborski
11:16
Honestly, the results were worse, but I think Cole PITCHED better today than in his seven shutout inning Game 3.

Is it me, or does the Astros catcher look into the dugout for every pitch?
AvatarDan Szymborski
11:16
It's Maldonado's job to watch and make sure nobody releases another awkward press release.
Joe
11:17
He looks into my soul

I'll say it again, Will Harris needs to shave that off. It looks drawn on.

I though a Kershaw/The Scream mashup would’ have been more your style Dan.. but I can see Kershaw Unplugged
AvatarDan Szymborski
11:17
Mike, I already have one of those.

I want that neural network to make all major life choices for me.
Hey yo
11:18
That's some professional hitting right there
Dystopian Future
11:18
You know, catchers sometimes change the sign based on what they're seeing from the batter, yeah? I wonder if instead of putting down fingers, there was a more entertaining way to do it? Like, what if instead of putting down one finger, the catcher shouted something like, "OMAHA"
AvatarDan Szymborski
11:18
They just shout out the pitches in Dothraki

One benefit of john smoltz being a tire fire is that it is hard to hate on joe buck
AvatarDan Szymborski
11:19
Buck is like Olive Garden. It's food and you probably won't die.

Disagree, John

Does the dude who thinks 0 isn't an even number also think 2 isn't prime?  His favorite kind of pi has finite digits and too much crust.
Joe
11:19
I don’t mind Buck

How many players have hit for the cycle in the WS?
Sean
11:20
I think Buck is actually pretty good in big moments. See: Altuve walk-off.

none. Brock Holt was the first to do it in a postseason game, that 16-1 blowout versus Yankees last year (I covered it, I know)
AvatarDan Szymborski
11:21
Brock Holt has the only postseason cycle, I bleieve
Acuña Moncada
11:21
None. last year was the first playoff cycle
Fire Ken Tremendous
11:21
That's how they'd khal the game, eh?
5 Run Homer
11:21
Literally Brock Holt
Ben Kaspick
11:21
I think that's a fair assessment of Buck. Will add that I thought Joe Davis did a really nice job with Smoltz in that one ALCS game.
AvatarDan Szymborski
11:22
There have only been 3 postseason games in which even the hardest 3/4 were done: Andre Ethier, Kaz Matsui, Lou Brock (2B/3B/HR)
AvatarJay Jaffe
11:22
joe Davis is excellent. My dislike of Buck has waned somewhat over the years as I realized it was often his partners in the booth that were causing me to grind my molars to dust
and Buck's cameos on Brockmire have been very funny
John
11:23
The buck hate is misplaced, he is a total pro and though he lacks personality he is enthusiastic in the right moments

Does completing the cycle when a position player is pitching really count though?
Dystopian Future
11:23
Wait what why is Aledmys Diaz playing?
AvatarDan Szymborski
11:23
Still counts!
