For between-innings entertainment, one of my favorite World Series trivia tidbits: Clay “Dimples” Dalrymple, a backup catcher with a .233 lifetime batting average, went 2 for 2 in the 1969 World Series. His hits came off Nolan Ryan and Tom Seaver.

First autograph I ever got was Clay Dalrymple. Connie Mack Stadium, 1966. Passed up the chance to get one from some nobody on the Reds, Pete Rose, to get it.

I found out that skyline chili actually has zero chili peppers in it which solidified my belief that it is not chili but beef stew

Astros have hit 5 balls over 100 mph, Nats have 1.  Seems to be a good sign for the home team right?

I keep hearing things about young people not liking baseball broadcasts, and I've heard ratings for this WS are not great. Is baseball really in a bad place going forward?

More between-innings trivia: The first team in Nationals franchise history, the 1969 Expos, won their first ever game, beating the Mets 11-10. Reliever Dan McGinn hit the franchise’s first home run -- off of Tom Seaver, no less.
