Just now settling in and catching up on the chat and have a comment on David's Tuck-rule analogy with last night's nonsense. The main difference is that in the Tuck Rule game, the Raiders basically stopped playing after the bad call and invited the Patriots to win the game, while the Nats strapped a pair on and made the bad call a footnote.

I threw 68 when I was a teenager and I still hit 58 goofing around at a minor league game a couple years ago

Because of the way the check swing rule is worded, I've always been perplexed when a hitter is ruled to have swung when he's 99% trying to get out of the way of a pitch
