Both safeties got a raw deal in 2021 with the way the guys in front of them performed against the run. They were forced to do things that they shouldn't have to.

Was Kenny P's wonderlic score higher than Bubby B's or Terry B's? I once heard from a knowledgeable Cowboy that Bradshaw couldn't spell "cat" if you spotted him the "c" and the "t", but at least he won 4 Lombardis and has made a pretty decent living as a broadcaster!

Here's the thing, the Steelers are going to be somewhere between 8-9 and 10-7, next year. They are not drafting a top QB in '23 in the mid-teens. This was their BEST chance to get the best QB in the draft. Let's not pretend the Steelers have always nailed their 1st round pick. Pickett had the highest floor. Let's see what he can do.

Still think you guys are sleeping on what the Steelers have. Johnson and Claypool is a competent 1-2. Do they have flaws? Sure. Do they stack up against the league's best duos? No. But there are a lot of teams that have it worse.

Remember Minkas first game as a Steeler... that great return after the pick... made people remember Troy... Well... sorry... he also got BEAT for 3 TDs... he doesn't tackle and is a 1 trick center fielder... set the team back and you all keep writing about what a great idea super signing him is... oy vey!

People were watching, Tommy. Watching a lot of a 39-year-old getting creamed and having no answers. And a lot of games where the Steelers didn't sniff 30 points. I liked Davis, too. And Hamilton. And a few others. But a QB who works out covers up a lot more warts than you're giving credit for. Time will tell whether Pickett is the guy. But it's not a completely illogical pick.

Last in league against the run and do nothing this offseason to help. Cam, 33, Alualu 35 (coming off major injury), Tuitt please. Head case. They better do everything they can to shore up the d-line!!! Ugh

The D played well in the first half, but the offense couldn't keep up. I seem to remember our WRs couldn't catch a cold in that game.

Best QB in the draft is very relative and practically meaningless. What would Pickett or any QB in the 2022 draft be ranked if they came out in 2021 or 2023? Stillers got the 3rd 'best' QB in the 2004 draft at pick #11 (close to the teens) and that worked out pretty good.

Sure. I don't think anyone is saying Pickett is a surefire Hall of Famer here. I think the point is more so that when you get your pick of the lot -- and you need a QB -- there are worse ways to use the 20th pick. If it doesn't work out, then oh well. It's not like you blew 1:1. And if it does, then you invested a lot less draft capital than teams generally have to

I like Skyy Moore. But the way things have gone, I'd be surprised if he's there. Jaquan Brisker from PSU and Gateway is a dark horse I like. He was getting late first smoke in the mocks. He'd be a bargain I think. Bernhard Raimann and Christian Harris are names that have been mocked to the Steelers for the *first* round, so getting them in Round 2 could be nice value, too.

Once Davis was gone, there wasn't a DL I wanted to see the Steelers pick in the first round. Wyatt's got issues and might not work in the 3-4. Travis Jones would be nice in Round 2.
