I think that not every player does, but for Ohtani coming off of the whole Anaheim disaster, I think he wants to be sold on a winner
I think that's an easier pitch to make for Farhan than for a new GM/POBO

As someone who has hired people, I'm not sure I should be fired if someone I hired didn't work out. It's not always easy to see how people will perform in a given situation. (I know that's not really what you're saying.)
