Adley again!  What an Opening Day for Birdland!
AvatarDan Szymborski

for at least one day, we can dispense with the weird OMG IS ADLEY RUTSCHMAN BAD NOW? talk
Kwah
6:02
Jazz Chisholm needs to learn it is *not* about the pitches at which you don't swing.
millville meltdown
6:02
badley rutschman is a myth. adley clutchman is real

Agree Dan...that second half had to be injury-related.  This is more who he is, although not THIS incredible.
AvatarDan Szymborski
6:03
I refuse to believe he can't hit 324 HRs
hoepfully whoever wanted Campbell offensive comps is still here
cause I'm about to rip off a whole bunch of the top ones

Smiling Politely

You saw it with several catchers last year; the 2nd of the year is really, really hard on them

Jay: re: Toby Harrah: he was in one of the first packs of cards I ever opened as well, wood-framed 1987 Topps. I remember thinking it was weird he had the Senators on the back of his card.

Nice! I had stopped collecting by 1987 — I missed the whole Junk Wax era.

Dan, have you read “Seasons In Hell” by Mike Shropshire? It’s about the 73-75 Rangers and is funny as all get out. Harrah was around for that
AvatarDan Szymborski
6:06
I have not, though I have had a mental note to catch at it somepoint
AvatarJay Jaffe

Oh that one is a gem, Dan

Boy, I was not expecting to see Gavin Lux on the same list as Paul Molitor.
AvatarDan Szymborski

Remember, the baseline is *at that age* not what they eventually became

Baseball is hard.  Wearing the "Tools of Ignorance" is hard as hell.

Chalk another something up on the list I thought I would never see, Joey Bart hitting 4th in a major league in a major league game.
Davy Andrews

Worked for Andres Giménez.
AvatarDan Szymborski

SOme guys with an offensive profile like Campbell *became* Molitor. SOME became Adam Riggs

Jay: I only collected the Junk Wax Era unfortunately. I went back to Chicago in January to clean out my childhood home to prepare to sell it, and left behind all of my thousands of cards for the estate sale. I almost took them home to CA for my kid but decided he had plenty and didn’t need more trash.

Oh boy - Brewers have the tying run at the plate against Devin Williams with nobody out

Devin Williams revenge save???
AvatarDan Szymborski
6:10
oh shoot, I haven't check the MLB the Show Pitch Classification for Devin Williams this year yet. They seem to go back and forth on saying his changeup is basically a screwball
MattStats5
6:10
I still have all my Junk Wax Era cards, along with my 70's collection.  I'm waiting till I retire for good, gonna dig them out and go through them with any of my grandkids might show interest.
Oddball Herrera

Devin Williams revenge save or Jake Bauers revenge homer.  One way or another.  Revenge.

Not gonna lie, rooting for a Devin Williams BS

The cards I loved as a kid were those early-to-mid-80s Fleer cards because it had those heat maps and strengths/weaknesses on the back
millville meltdown
6:11
would a changeup/screwball mix be called a screwup?
Davy Andrews
6:11
Changeball is also pretty good.
AvatarDan Szymborski

Basically the closest we could get to pitch/fx in the 80s
