I’ve heard the mostly just frustration from people around the program rather than any clear plan for positioning if the ACC unravels. Pitt has stability with Narduzzi, but stability without vision feels like treading water, especially in this new era of player compensation and realignment uncertainty. Until there’s a more proactive strategy, it’s hard not to worry about Pitt getting left behind.

Some of the commentary from Louisville players indicating that Pitt had "quit" was a little disturbing. I don't know if it's accurate, but the lack of success has to wear one down. I hope the offense is able to find some sort of rhythm this week, because frankly, this may be the last, best opportunity.

I can't help but think the comment about chunk plays and crumbling before they get to end zone are accurate. A majority of the touchdowns this season has come from chunk plays. That's not sustainable. They need to figure out how to convert on third downs. Eli Holstein throwing interceptions in the end zone also doesn't help rebuke the comments.

I’ve seen criticism around these parts of Allen Greene, but the guy’s relatively new and that seems unfair. What’s the buzz been about Greene outside of the fan base?

He seems like he has a strong vision, but I've yet to see much execution. He wants Pitt to have winning programs, especially football and basketball. I don't think you can fault him for not axing Narduzzi right now though when you 1) don't have the money and 2) who would you replace him with mid season? Probably don't want Kade Bell promoted from within which is what often happens. I have high hopes for Greene. I'd just like to see some action.

Regarding being "left behind", unfortunately basketball doesn't bring much to the table, either.

You're not wrong there, either. Jeff Capel's buy out goes down significantly after this season, so there's at least a bit of wiggle room there. That's assuming they have another lackluster season.

If Holstein doesn't throw picks in the end zone against WVU and Louisville, and even if we settle for a field goal, those losses are wins. Those play calls were just awful.

Yeah I'm really confused why you don't run the ball in some of those situations. I know Desmond Reid wasn't available, but that still feels like the better option — especially against Louisville after we saw that he threw one against WVU.

I definitely think we need patience with Allen Greene. He took over a pretty rough situation with an Olympic sports venue that wasn't properly funded, two coaches over-extended based on performance, NIL/Revenue sharing. The question I have is regarding money. We always say and hear we don't have money. Why is that? We've got wealthy alums as do schools like PSU, Ohio State, Clemson etc. Is this more a chicken or the egg problem? Meaning: If we win, we'd have more alumni support. If we had more alumni support, we'd win? Tough to hear we don't have the money.

I don't necessarily think that it's Pitt doesn't have money. It would just be difficult to pull the funds together when you're already asking donors for NIL money, Victory Heights money and normal donor contributions. Then, to your point, they don't see the football team winning, so I can imagine it's hard to want to pour more money in when they're likely contributing a significant amount already. I think if Greene and the other higher ups really wanted to axe Narduzzi, they could, but at what cost? What else is now not getting money because you had to pay $30 million to get rid of him. Definitely frustrating, though.

And on that note, thank you so much for joining me on this live chat. Lots of good discussion today. Stephen will be back next week at the same time. We really appreciate your support for our coverage!
