The jewelbox stadium that was rumored would be awesome- and then I saw that the only way to access it would be via a tram of some sort.
9:44
And uh- that does not seem like a thing that would get *more* people to go to night-time baseball games.

Is third time thru the order meaningful on a 1 year sample size?
Ben Clemens
9:44
Nope!

I like how most teams demand fancy luxury boxes and shopping features in their new stadiums and the A's just want a place that isn't always teetering on the edge of a public health sewage disaster.

I am so pumped for El Camino
Ben Clemens

That said, I constantly feel like I'm close to proving that pitch mix matters for times through the order.
Velo drop absolutely matters, though that's kind of obvious

I thought the tram was just the only way to take public transit, and that there would still be parking?
Ben Clemens
9:46
Yes, that's true, but as a millennial (I think), I can't imagine not taking public transportation to a game. Driving here during sporting events is a post-apocalyptic hellscape.

how surprised were you that the Dodgers are starting Buehler in game 1?

I already had it!

Morton was popping 97 in the first inning, more 93-94 now. That's a worrisome sign for sure.

ZiPS updated platoon projection splits still have Nats about 30 points of OPS better against lefties than righties.

Ben, according to the demographer who invented the term (Neil Howe), a millennial is someone born between 1984 and 2003.
Ben Clemens

1985- I made it!

Morton is almost certainly done, right?
Ben Clemens
9:48
I have to think so. I do think it's kind of weird to leave him in two extremely high leverage spots and then take him out, but hey, I don't manage a professional baseball team.
AvatarDan Szymborski

Morton was still hitting like 103 on last night's radar gun.
It's so different watching Semien play defense. You can see it in more than the stats.

Watch him set his foot when he throws now.

I don't think he's done baseball since ABC had it
