I just think the Cards had made up their mind that he wasn't good enough
Even before the IG live thing, they were playing hot garbage over him in 2019
Even after he obliterated AA and AAA
I think they had just decided he was a fourth outfielder ceiling guy

O'Neill, yes. I get he's got raw tools, but they are so incredibly raw that I'm not sure he deserves the hype

Paul, I know no best of 5 says anything about anything really, but the Marlins are completely non-competitive here. Teams like that ideally would not be in the playoffs. If they played 162 they would probably end up 70-92.

I think Melvin's distinction on lamb/pinder is hard throwing soft throwing righthander. (although Pinder was left in v james). I certainly didn't think jake would go hamb* like he did when he signed

There's a reason that pitcher platoon splits stabilize faster than hitters; it's because they get to throw their weird platoon-y pitches

That's not to say that there aren' true-talent lefty mashers. It simply means that 'but he mashes lefties' isn't a sufficient reason for me to believe it
If you have specific reasons a guy hits lefties way better, I'll at least listen. But 'look at his results' is not a specific reason
