I think as it's a wooden cabin in the middle of seemingly nowhere, there wouldn't be electricity. Therefore they were using candles inside the house. It may have been knocked over and the field looks very dry so the fire within the cabin may have spread quickly as the person ran out of the house to watch it burn down.
