Hi everyone, welcome to our first attempt at an NBA chat here on Amico Hoops. Let's hope it works! I appreciate you guys joining and giving us a few minutes of your time.

Are the cavs getring melo or naw
Sam Amico
2:19
Trades are too hard to predict. I'd say it's a long shot. But there's plenty of a shot. He prefers Cleveland or Houston. Know why?
Tolu
2:20
Why?
Sam Amico
2:20
Because guess which team gives him the best chance to get to the Finals? Read: Not Houston.
John
2:20
Are the Cavs willing to include Love in a melo trade
Sam Amico
2:20
Not at the moment, no.
Paul
2:20
Dan is gonna run lebron out isn't he? Incompetence at its fullest, David Griffin wasn't perfect but he was a dealmaker
Sam Amico
2:21
I sort of agree. But I don't think it was entirely Gilbert. David Griffin also rejected the Knicks deal. He wants power, and lots of it.
And lots of Cavs fans are complaining about the bench. Guess who built it?
Seven
2:22
Have you heard any NBA rumors on Luc Mbah a Moute?
Sam Amico
2:22
Several teams are interested. I had heard him connected to the Jazz, but they just signed Thabo Sefolosha. The Clippers remain a possibility.
Austin
2:22
How likely is it the cavs make any more moves?
Sam Amico
2:23
EXTREMELY likely. In fact, they'll make more between now and training camp, but probably closer to camp. One GM told me he'd love Channing Frye, but he won't even think about him until September.
James
2:23
Thoughts on Rich Paul and Gilbert sitting next to each other in a summer league game? Unusual?
Sam Amico
2:24
Completely normal. Rob Pelinka is the Lakers GM. He used to be an agent. These guys are close with the owners. They spend a lot of time with them behind the scenes. The only thing I found unusual about it was the media making a big deal about it.
Megs
2:24
Could cavs just be waiting for trade deadline when teams are willing to give up more for less??
Sam Amico
2:25
I think Wade and the Bulls will eventually finalize a buyout, yes. It's hard to tell when it could happen. My guess is right around the start of the year. He would either go back to Miami or join LeBron James in Cleveland.

1. LeBron refuses to commit to the organization-creates so much uncertainty especially concerning front office/roster moves. Why won't he speak up?
2. Is there any commitment from the players/coaches that tells you that this unit understands the challenge ahead of it, and it is fully ready to embrace it. I don't get that vibe.
Sam Amico
2:27
I don't think LeBron has refused anything. He hasn't said one word about free agency and not one person has asked him about. Everything is speculation created by a national media that hates him playing in Cleveland. If I'm LeBron, I don't say anything either. Not until I'm asked. Why respond to every rumor? It would be endless.
And I can tell you the Cavs players think they are headed for a fourth straight Finals. They feel like they can win when they get there, too. And they think they can do all of it as is.
Anthony
2:28
Do you think pg13 will stay in okc or look at other options such as Cavs and lakers?
Sam Amico
2:30
Way too early to answer that. I think we all need to see how the season plays out. George has said he is open to staying there. He should. The Thunder could really build something special.
David
2:30
How does golden state who already had the best team, and less flexibility than other teams come out better this summer while Cavs had couple directions to get better and failed.
Sam Amico
2:30
I don't think you can say they failed until they lose in the Finals. Nobody has ever won a title in July.
Plus, it'
2:31
is hard to make a trade when you say, "We'd like to make a trade with you," and the other team says, "Nope."
2:32
You cannot force trades. You need an agreeable partner. The Cavs had no money to sign free agents (a David Griffin creation) and no one who wanted Kevin Love -- including the Pacers for Paul George. So I don't know what else they're supposed to do.
James
2:32
Were you surprised the cavs signed Osman over Crawford?  Sounded like LBJ wanted Crawford.  Thoughts?
Sam Amico
2:33
LeBron didn't want Crawford that badly or the Cavs would've signed him. The Cavs are getting a feel for what LeBron wants.
Matt E
2:34
Is it more Griffin or Gilbert that there's no money to sign free agents? Doesn't happen if Gilbert doesn't tell him to do it.
Sam Amico
2:35
It's the GM. He tells the owner "I think we should give Player X the max." Trust me, owners want to be cheap. GMs want to spend. GMs have to talk the owners into it if the guy's name isn't LeBron, Durant, etc.
James
2:35
Also just want to shout you and your people it on such an excellent job breaking rumors and giving us the scoop!!  Love following you!!
Sam Amico
2:36
Thank you! I am not much of a newsbreaker, but we do put everything everyone else breaks on the site. :)
Jason Lee
2:36
Why is Dan willing to spend 20 mill on Cedi after taxes but won't pay A GM 4 mill..
Sam Amico
2:36
Because GM's don't make shots.
If you know the players and what they make, and can build good relationships, congrats, you can be an NBA GM too.
2:38
I'll be honest -- I'm really stunned about all the complaining about a team that's been to three straight Finals, won a title a year ago, and is primed for a fourth straight Finals berth without making another move.
Quite a difference from my Cavs chats from five years ago lol.
Kyle
2:39
Only FA that can help the Cavs left are: Tony Allen, Luc Mbah a Boute would any of them be willing to come for Min or rest of MLE which is almost same... do u know if Cavs have reached out to them??
