Thanks for hosting this chat Will, I just wanted to ask about overall process to accept Ph.D. students in the department of mechanical engineering. Is it benefitial for me to contact POI before I admitted? Or all decisions are made by just admission commitee?

JE, at this point you may not hear back from a potential PI if you don't have a pre-existing relationship, as we are very deep into the decision making process.

Marcus, I don't have a specific date that all decisions will definitely be sent out. Sorry, but these are controlled by the dept.

Digvijay, we only use rolling admissions for PhD decisions. All master's decisions will be released on April 5 or May 15

Weicheng, no, the depts will normally allow for a grace period of a day if it's just one letter.
