Hi Will, I'm still awaiting decision for the PhD in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics program. Do you know if all decisions have been sent out? By what date are most decisions made?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:48
Varun, all applicants will receive a decision and they are still being sent out. We hope to have all decisions released prior to April 15, but I can't promise that, as they're all made on a rolling basis.

Thank you for the first part of the answer Will. Do you know if there any online degree-exclusive scholarship opportunities?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:49
Adan, we do not offer any aid to master's students, online or off, at this time.

For IPD, as per website the decisions will be rolled out on one of the dates mentioned - March 8, March 22 and April 5. Are the decisions already been made and sent out? How does this work?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:53
Guest, yes, some decisions were sent out on March 8.

My application status shows Ready for Review. Does this mean it hasn't been reviewed yet?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:56
Guest - this means the dept was notified it was ready to be reviewed. It will remain in this status until you receive a decision.

One last question Will. Are you able to provide some info about Penn Engineering's volunteer/community service opportunities and which ones might be best for online students who still want to participate in them?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:57
Adan, that's a very interesting question and I'll be honest, it's not one we've had before. As this is currently the first cohort that has been part of the online program, I don't know what type of opportunities are available for students that are in the online program but aren't at least here in Philadelphia. I'd recommend you contact the program directly about that one - online-learning@seas.upenn.edu. I'll also ask them about these opportunities as well.

Hi, this is Siddharth. I've applied for the Masters in Chemical Engineering. I would like to know if the results, both yes or no, would be declared on the same day.
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:58
Guest, yes, decisions will be sent out on March 22 and April 5, both acceptance and rejection.
Bruno

Will, I realized that is very difficult (low % rate) to be accepted in the MCIT program on-campus. Are there "reserved" seats for international students?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:58
Bruno - no, we don't have a specific set of international vs domestic acceptances.

Hi, I got a mail saying that my application is incomplete and I had to submit a letter of recommendation by March 8 end of day. I believe I've done so, but I haven't heard back yet. Will I be notified about this?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:59
Guest, you can login to your application and note if your letters were received by the deadline - if they were then your application status should have changed to "ready for review." Otherwise, you should have been contacted by our office with additional information.
Guest

Have the rejected applicants already been notified of the IPD decision?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
11:00
Guest, yes, some have been.
Thanks for your questions, everyone. Remember, tomorrow is the final deadline for all ON-CAMPUS applications that haven't closed yet.
