Hi, Will. I read on the Graduate Admissions webpage that some programs at UPenn recommend a minimum of 100 on the TOEFL iBT, but I scored a little less. Is it a huge problem for the CBE Ph.D. program? Thank you in advance!

I believe you asked this twice ;)

Do most Bioengineering grad students live on campus? What is the community like? What is the rotation system like for choosing an advisor and lab that you could contribute the most to?

Cameron, no, most grad students live off campus because there is very limited grad student housing on campus. The program usually assigns your advisor and lab. As for rotations, you'd want to contact the program coordinator, Kathy Venit, at kvenit@seas.upenn.edu, for more info.

Additionally, if I have spoken with a PI already, is it possible to skip rotations and join their lab directly? Thanks for the information!

Cameron, again, you'll want to speak with the program directly about this question.
