Will we be notified via email of our decision or will we need to log into the Apply Web portal to check the application status periodically?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:01
Ethan, you'll receive an email that you have a decision in your application account, and then you'll need to log into your application account to access it.

My recommender still needed sometime to submit his recommendation letter. When is the due date for the letter?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:01
YuexingHao, if you applied to a master's program, the last day for it to be submitted is the application deadline, so either Feb 1 or Mar 15, depending on the program. If it was a PhD program, then the deadline was Dec 15.

Tentatively, when do the admits start rolling out for PhD in Computer Science?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:02
Guest, they'll usually start rolling out by the end of the month. It's usually 6-8 weeks before decisions start rolling out.

Charles, I'm not entirely sure I understand your question - I believe getting a job and/or a fellowship would probably be a good idea :)

Hi, I'm so glad to attend this chat. I have applied to the CS PhD program, and am nervously waiting for the decision. Before any formal question, can I ask that why Upenn sent this chat reminder email up to three time today, I just feel a little nervous(lol).
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:07
Shanchao, I'd guess it had to do with a technical issue? I'm not entirely sure, as I don't handle the triggers to set up these emails. Sorry for spamming your inbox, but thanks for joining us!

Hello. I'm a CIS phd applicant for Fa2020. Generally, what proportion of students are interviewed before acceptance? In contrast, what proportion of students are accepted without an interview? And how is the interview scored in the overall admission decision? I am curious to know more about what affect interviews have in the selection process.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:08
Moonyoung, the CIS PhD program doesn't hold official interviews, so I don't really have an answer for these questions. I'm sorry that I can't give you more concrete information. I can tell you that we admitted approximately 10% of applicants last year.
Eme
10:00
Hi, when we will get the admission decision for PhD CIS? Is it static date or they sent the decision once it has released ؟
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:09
Hi Eme, these decisions are sent out on a rolling basis, so they should start going out in the next 2-3 weeks, and then they'll be going out until they're all done.

Hi. I submitted my application for graduate school already, but I was wondering when will the review process start?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:10
Hi Camille, you can log into your application account and see the status of your application. If it says "Ready for Review," that means that it has been sent to the department for review.
Swapnil

On Jan 15, some decisions will be rolled out for masters in CIS. Will they be only admits or both admits & rejects?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:10
Swapnil, this is entirely up to the department, but I believe there will be both admits and rejects.
Amish Patel

Hi, my grades for the fall semester recently came in and I would like to resubmit my transcript if possible. Where and how can I do that?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:11
Hi Amish, you'd need to email us the updated unofficial transcript. Can you tell me to which program did you apply?
