SP Matchup tool gives a slight edge to Cease over Webb.

NL-only, 12-team, dynasty. Mason Miller owner who is speculating for additional saves (this year and beyond) with free agent bids. Thoughts on Keaton Winn, Connor Phillips, and Mason Montgomery taking steps forward soon. Thanks.
Ray Murphy
12:34
I think SF is going to stay a revolving door. I like Phillips a lot, but you may have to wait a while for it. Tiny sample, but Montgomery is getting absolutely tagged by righty hitters... he's not climbing the ladder til he fixes that.

Good morning, Ray.  Injury bug has hit and I picked up Cortes and Brito.  (1) How high are you on these two over the next 6 weeks in a deep (18-team) 5x5?  (2) What are your thoughts on on Crews as speculation in a deep league? Emerson (SS) is the only other big prospect on the wire.
Ray Murphy
12:36
Brito's a nice play for that six-week timeframe. No guarantees but it could pay off. I still like Crews, but I think WSH can afford to be patient with him. If you're willing to wait til June for the payoff, that could work out nicely.

Hi Ray--In a 15-team mixed points league, would you consider dropping Liberatore for any of Roupp, Kyle Harrison, Junk or Springs?
Ray Murphy
12:36
I'd drop Liberatore for the first two.
Eddie
12:37
Would you swap Taj Bradley even-up for Jesus Luzardo? Classic sell-high/buy-low?
Ray Murphy
12:37
Absolutely.

Early in the season, but Baty, Marcelo Meyer, Manzardo have been pretty bad. In a Dynasty league, how much rope do I give them before dropping? Currently they are on my bench for the most part Thanks.
Ray Murphy
12:38
If they're on your bench, I'd leave them there. Mentioned all three above, I think. For this year, I'd dump Mayer, but pretty clearly he has the highest long-term ceiling fo this group.

Thanks for the chat! 10 team AL only standard 5x5 roto. Please rank for the rest of this year: Pasquantino, Murakami, Schaneul, Manzardo, and are any close?
Ray Murphy
12:39
Vinnie, Murakami, Manzardo, Schanuel
Marcell Ozuna
12:40
Will I ever hit a homerun in Pittsburgh, or am I destined to be dropped or given a bench role?
Ray Murphy
12:40
They have 12 million reasons to hang with you, Marcell. I think you'll get going sooner or later, but I might bench you for the short term.
Ron
12:41
Are you buying into Sean Burke's nice start, Ray?  Deep leagues (need to) accept Palehose players.
Ray Murphy
12:41
A bit of a weird profile. He's cut the walks a ton, and Ball% is better but not a lot better. But he's also lost SwK, which is concerning. But it's all just three starts, so let's not overreact. I've got no objections to him in a deep league, though.

Morning - H2HP league looking at catching.  Basallo, F Alvarez, or Y Diaz?  Thinking Basallo may get more PT with the new injuries on the O's.
Ray Murphy
12:42
Basallo's going to play a ton with Adley out, yes. Let's see him get the bat going. Big fan of Alvarez too. Good options here.

Will del Castillo get nine more games behind the plate before Moreno comes back? When does Bleday get his shot with the Reds?
Ray Murphy
12:44
I assume ADC and McCann will basically split time. They don't love ADC's defense. Reds situation is crowded... Marte got sent down today but they called up Hinds, not Bleday. He might be buried.

12:45
Ray, any hope for a decent performance by Joc Pederson as a substitute for Barger or Springer in an AL-only league?  Thanks.
Ray Murphy
12:45
Rangers have had a good stretch of RHP, and have been running him out there... i.e. they're trying to get him going. You could do worse as injury backfill. I don't think he's done.
Ben Brown
12:46
Will Cubs keep me in bullpen?  Will I get back in the rotation or is Rea here to stay?
Ray Murphy
12:46
Rea and Assad can probably hold the fort. They don't really seem like they're looking to stretch you out... yet.

12:47
Hi Ray,I am in a 5x5 NL only league. All things being equal would you consider a straight up offer of Aroldis Garcia for Brendon Doyle
Ray Murphy
12:47
I'd rather have Doyle. Eventually it's going to warm up at Coors.

AL only.  Povich or Arighetti ROS?  Both scare me... should I be scared?
Ray Murphy
12:47
I'm an Arrighetti fan. I think Povich is filler, Arrighetti might be better than that.
Sean
12:47
Hi Ray, thanks for stepping in.  Does Caballero hold value after Volpe's return?  Holding them both in a 15-team roto league with a short bench, and worried about Caballero.
Ray Murphy
12:47
Yes, I expect he'll find his way into the lineup. The Yanks are healthy now, that won't last.

12:48
AL only.  Is NSchultz just another rookie SP to be weary of?  Seems like a lot of hype... BHQ predictions (skills and stats) are not impressive.
Ray Murphy
12:48
Projection is not impressive (I moved it from "awful" to "unimpressive" yesterday,) But read the callup report today, it's pretty optimistic. There's risk there, of course, but this might be a place to take a shot.

NL only.  Some podcasts have BSproat as a "buy low" now candidate.  Do you agree?  Also, I liked the look of SManaea yesterday... worth a speculative bid?  or will do more harm than good?
Ray Murphy
12:50
That Manaea outing caught my eye for sure. But the velocity still wasn't there. On Sproat, long-term he might be a buy, but I can't stomach the lack of command right now.

NL only.  Need pickup for Moreno.  Please rank:  Campusano, CKelly, Fermin, Bailey.
Ray Murphy
12:51
Kelly, Fermin.... Campusano's bat is interesting, but I don't think his glove is going to allow him to play enough for you.

AL only.  10 reserve spots.  Colt Emerson is worth a stash and will be called up by mid May?  Same question for PTolle and Antonacci.... although that is pressing on my reserve spots to have them all.  So please rank ROS too.    As ever, thank you!
Ray Murphy
12:52
I'm still the wrong guy for prospect questions.

hi Ray, complicated situation this week for my outfielders and dh spot: 1. Soler: when do you expect the decision about his appeal of his 7 games suspension? Lopez suspension was reduced from 7 to 5 games (ridiculous for a starting pitcher : it means he won’t miss a start! and even more ridiculous when you consider the situation: he almost hit Soler’s head in the 5th, after hitting him in the 3rd, after Soler’s homer in the 1st, and knowing Soler is hitting over .500 against him). How many games do you expect will be the final sanction for Soler?
