Yes to save 1 soon. 30 this year? Still possible, though it may take a managerial change to get there. Which also seems possible right now, frankly. As a Duran manager myself, not much you can do to affect this situation (other than look for add'l saves sources in general).

if Megill is out due to his knee - or just tested, is A Uribe the next in line?
Brent Hershey
12:37
Should clarify here ... I don't know for sure that Uribe is the next in line -- but it sure looks to me like he SHOULD be. With Megill's health history popping up again, and him not exactly being lock-down so far, and no one else there currently looking like they are ready to step up ... Uribe is the shot I'm taking now. Even if it means that Megill is out and it's a couple weeks on the Payamps/Hudson/Mears carousel.

Do Jhoan Duran's early season skills worry you at all? Where are the swinging strikes!?
Brent Hershey
12:39
Fair question ... but still super early. So, keeping an eye on it, but no, not a huge issue just yet.

Javier Sanoja seems blocked as 2b and ss by Lopez and Edwards. With Pauley to a slow start, do you see a path for him at 3b?
Brent Hershey
12:42
Perhaps for a bit, but not once Norby gets back. Sanoja will continue to see time in OF. But it's a contact-only profile without much fantasy juice.

Who is likely to get more than 300 AB this season? Tim Tawa, Saggese, or both?
Brent Hershey
12:42
Saggese. Jordan Lawlar should end up with more AB than Tawa this year.

Does Rocker need to change his sinker-heavy approach, or is this just a normal adjustment period? Where's the swing and miss?
Brent Hershey
12:46
Adjustment period ... we don't know yet what he'll be. He's flipped his sinker/4seamer frequency drastically so far. I'm not yet convinced he has the feel for his arsenal.

Sorry, forgot to include my name on this question earlier.....  Which Cubs catcher do you like better, Amaya or Kelly?  I have both and don't want to eat up a roster spot for long.  Which would you drop for Zac Veen?  Or would you drop Nolan Jones for Veen instead?
Brent Hershey
12:48
I want Amaya; big gains 2H of last year I think will eventually move him into the bulk of the PT there. In a way, nice that Kelly's hot start has masked that some; Amaya can ease in. So Kelly would be my drop for Veen, and right now, I'd take the Veen shot over Jones, who looks bad when I've seen him. Still am tracking long-term, but he's in a funk right now.

Hi Brent - Zac Gallen was on the BBHQ All Value pre-season team.  Been a wild ride so far.  Does this roller coaster continue?
Brent Hershey
12:51
I think it could, yes. Hopefully effectiveness of his CB resurfaces.

12 team 5/5 mixed drop 1 : j bleday j lawlor o lopez l rengifo
Brent Hershey
12:52
If redraft, drop Lawlar. If some sort of dynasty/keeper, then trim lopez, probably.

Hi Brent - I have Austin Riley in both roto and H2H formats.  Please give me some hope that there are better days ahead.
Brent Hershey
12:54
Track record; we all know ATL lineup has to get better given their talent; he's in no danger of losing his job. Just have to exercise patience at this point.

Good Monday - keep reading different takes on Torkelson's start.  Bloomfield gave him a thumbs up in his Snap Judgements article.  Got him early in 5x5 12 team roto.  Did I strike gold?
Brent Hershey
12:56
Might have. You just keep playing him; the offseason doubters (/raises hand/) could look silly by July.

BUT ... valid point for all here ... THIS is why you don't give up on Dylan Crews. Hitting is hard and MLB pitching is nothing like what these kids have faced before.

Thanks again for the chat and the assistance.well this is the week isn’t it to put all the eggs in one basket? So here is my trifecta: #1. Does Zebby Mathew’s jump out as one of the higher prospects in recent years when looking at both his control and velocity.
#2. AJ Shawver of Braves was just sent down after weekend start. He is already making bats, velo is decent, walk rate ok, but leaving too many FB in middle. I think very correctable. Other than Painter, do Zebby and AJ rank in your top 5 SP prospects to do something this year?
#3. Hicks stayed at 97, gave up RF porch shot in Yankee Stadium . You still like?
Brent Hershey
1:01
  1. Super interesting, hearing of his velo bump while maintaining control. That's very Cristopher-Sánchez of him.
  2. Probably like Bubba Chandler (definitely Painter; and maybe Jobe?) more than Zebby/AJ ... but no reason not to hold ZM and AJSS.
  3. Still hold some skepticism, but one I'm super interested to watch v PHI this week. And yes, holding velo is a good benchmark to track.

Hi Brent. Lodolo is off to a weird start. He’s not walking anyone, and he’s not allowing hard contact, but he’s not getting whiffs or strikeouts — very different profile from what we’ve seen in the past (lots of whiffs, more walks, more barrels). How much should I be worried about the lack of whiffs and strikeouts “
Rich
1:03
Is Nick Lodolo a sell-high? The sub-1.00 ERA and WHIP are obviously unsustainable and the strikeouts are MIA (only 8 in 18 2/3 innings so far).
Brent Hershey

A hold for me. Been a believer for a while; gonna watch for now.

What do you think of Matthew Liberatore?  Has he stepped up to a new level, or is this just a mirage?
Brent Hershey
1:04
Need more data; I lean towards mirage, but did handle the Phils yesterday and was a great two-stepper.

Dropping Steele who is done for the year.  McCullers (Houston) has some positive news and may be pitching for the Astros in 10 days or so.  Stash him now on my IL or are Efflin or Darvish better stashes?  Thanks.
Brent Hershey

I'd go Eflin before the others.

NL 10 Team 5x5- would you trade $1 Harrington - who might be special in time- for $1 Ashcroft who might close for the Reds? How about for a $10 Bender?
Brent Hershey
1:05
Not sure Harrington has 'special' upside. I'd move him for a closer shot, sure.

Is Casas a top 10 First Baseman in your opinion? Can Manzardo get to that level at some point?
Brent Hershey

No, and maybe.
Rick

I know it's early, but Colt Keith has been pretty mediocre. Do you see him developing any kind of power?
Brent Hershey
1:06
Yes. Not crazy power, but the kind that works as a 2B much better than as a 1B.
