I think if you want to lock up SF saves, you need to grab about 6 guys rather than three. I think it's going to be that way all year. Not that I'd be terribly optimistic about Herget's save chances either, so I guess I'd try to corner the market on Vitiello's options and hope he settles on one or at least a couple.

hi Ray, I will need to drop one among : l acuna, rengifo and j ortiz. Which one is the poorer contributor over the next 6 weeks? Thank you
Ray Murphy
12:36
I think Acuna is demonstrating that he can't hit. Could be sent down soon.

What's up with Jac Cags? Since last season the skills have been okay, but the production hasn't followed yet.
Ray Murphy
12:37
Premium buy-low. It's very early, and QBaB says he's hitting the ball hard (AFf), just hasn't found the launch angle yet. It'll come...
Hesh
12:39
What are your early season thoughts on Joey Cantillo?
Ray Murphy
12:39
What we wrote in his Forecaster commentary looks like it still holds... the K's are nice, and a good sign that those have carried over from last year. But there's no sign of control gains, so that is going to hold him back.

is colt keith going to put up enough counting stats to be mixed 12 team relevant?
Ray Murphy
12:40
One of my faves, I love the bat. But in a 12, the platoon/Hinch lineup churn is a real drag. As a 4-5 game a week guy, that's a real limitation in shallower leagues.
Christopher

Eury Perez and Bubba Chandler - command issues will pass or buckle up for a season of short outings and high whip?
Ray Murphy
12:40
Still optimistic on both. But admittedly a bit nervous too.

Hi Ray,                                                                                             Just a few questions for a 14-team 6X6 Mixed Rotisserie:          1) I have three closers (generally keep two) Chapman, Helsley and Sewald.  Would you trade one of them for Schwellenbach now betting on a successful rehab?                     2) I have Pena on the IL and Jorge Polanco ailing (might want to replace him) - could you please rank Bryson Stott, Hye Song Kim, Mauricio Dubon, Gleybar Torres and possibly Chase Meidroth for ROY?                                                  3) I have Adam and Clevinger (injured) for holds (don't want to kill ERA or WHIP) - who would you choose for depth between Treinen, Kerkering, Raley or Thielbar?                       Thanks
Ray Murphy
12:42
  1. No.
  2. Stott, Gleyber, Kim.
  3. Kerkering. (Absolutely no reason to roster Clevinger in a mixed league)

Pick 2 in a 12 team mix roto; Liam hicks, kyle manzardo, matt wallner, josh bell, Brenton Doyle, Ez Tovar
Ray Murphy
12:42
Doyle and... Tovar.

Good Morning! 16 team. Mixed. 5x5. Looking for the next SP --with upside--to get called up (like everyone else). JR Ritchie?
Ray Murphy
12:43
As always, I'm the wrong guy to ask prospect questions. But I did just notice this AM that Robby Snelling has 22 K in 13 IP at Triple-A.

Jose Berrios velocity up in latest rehab - news or noise?
Ray Murphy
12:44
Noise. We know who he is.

Even w his next start @COL - is randy vasquez a must add in 12 team h2hs?
Ray Murphy
12:44
I'd say he's a must add, yes. Coors isn't that scary at this time of year, against that lineup.
Stratford Nicos
12:47
Is there hope for PCA? He seems incapable of change.
Ray Murphy
12:47
QBaB is AAf right now. Last year BAd in 1st half, BBc in 2nd. If AAf sticks the power will come. And he's running already. He doesn't need to change, this version is pretty darn good.

hi Ray, how worried about Hader current velocity? I am trying to determine the usefullness of drafting De Los Santos: will he be usefull for a month or the ROS? Thank you
Ray Murphy
12:47
I'll believe Hader makes it back when I actually see him on a mound in Houston. I'd take the shot at DLS.

I am looking for pitching and thinking of trading O'Neill Cruz.  Does he sustain some of this new breakout or should I work to trade him at a high level?
Ray Murphy
12:49
HctX is way up, which is encouraging. But 42% hit rate can't last. He's such a unicorn... the idea of a 136 HctX with a 65% contact% practically breaks my brain. If you can sell high enough, I'd entertain it.

hi Ray, hoffman and dominguez are having some problems. Please rank these for saves over the next few months: leasure, taylor(already spoken for in our league), varland, rogers? thank you
Ray Murphy
12:49
Varland is at least pretty clearly next in line behind a shaky closer. That puts him at top of this group.

Hi Ray,  I'm in a 15-team mixed points league that allows 7 keepers. I managed to stash Colt Emerson, who may come up soon. Wondering if now is the time to try to flip him, given that his value may never be higher. Think that makes sense or is he likely to be a franchise cornerstone I ought to hold on to? Thanks.
Ray Murphy
12:51
Again, I'm not a prospect guru, but I think there's some "better real life than fantasy asset" risk with Emerson. Always depends what you're getting in return, but I'd entertain selling him. (Whereas I think Konnor Griffin, just to pick a comp, is definitely more of a no-way-I'd-trade cornerstone.)
batting there way into lineup
12:53
hi Ray, w castro is not a fulltimer anymore. Julien is doing well. Will this arrangement lasts? Can you rank your favorites among : j jackson, i vargas, williamson, brito?
Ray Murphy
12:53
If you're in a deep league, Castro is versatile and likely finds his way to playing time... he always does. Julien is hot and leading off is very nice for him. I like Brito the most from the last group, though Vargas had some online buzz this week for his off-the-charts Statcast metrics. Just not sure he can hold the playing time.

NL only 5x5. Got Aaron Ashby and Justin Wrobleski for $2 in my draft, and (wow!) 8 wins already!!! Interested in trading for upgrades. How high should I be shooting?
Ray Murphy
12:54
Tough to answer without knowing how dumb your leaguemates are. :)

Thanks for the chat, Ray. I drafted Carmen Mlodzinski at .10 on the hope that he'd be a leverage arm by end of season. Is that possible, or is he just an ideal swingman who gets bumped at soon as Jared Jones is back?
Ray Murphy
12:55
I'm not sure he gets bumped, some other shoe could easily drop there. But if you're talking about a leverage role in the bullpen, I'm not sure I see that this year either.

NL-only, 12-teams, dynasty. How long is the leash for Rece Hinds this time? I need a 5th OF to round out my team, and his slug and some SB could be handy
Ray Murphy
12:56
He was hot in March, he's getting a look on a team that is struggling to hit. Of course he's 0-for-10. It might be a problem if it gets to 0-for-20.

What is wrong with Logan Webb? I may have cursed another ironman pitcher.
