Good Monday, chatters! Thanks to Ray for covering for me last week; I get to do the same for him this Friday. Good to be back, good to have actual baseball on here on Patriots Day -- not so good to be a Sonny Gray owner as he just left the game with some sort of injury. Par for the course, I guess ... let's get to some questions ...

Does W Urena stay in the rotation?
Brent Hershey
12:04
Doubtful at this point, though it is the Angels. Nice start already, though.

12 Team - H2H, 5x5, QS instead of W:  Wanting to add another SP, but not sure who to drop to make room: W. Castro, C. Keith, J. Aranda, or M. Busch.
Brent Hershey
12:05
Would be Castro for me, as much as I like WC during draft season. Just been a tough start and feel like he's not as explosive as the other three, even with a Coors home.

Good morning Brent, NL only 5x5 with saves.  Please rank Keller, kerkering , Vesia, Treinan, Theilbar, Santillan tidwelland wrobolinski ( realize no saves).  Thanks
Brent Hershey
12:07
Keller, Thiebar would be my main targets. Then a drop-off to Vesia, Kerkering, Santillan. Wrobleski might be in this group. Feel like Trienen and Tidwell are the furtherest from consistent saves.

Hello Brent! I suspect I’m gonna have trouble with Diaz as my closer. Should I get Killian or Winn from San Francisco or Gus Barland from Washington?
Brent Hershey
12:08
Prefer one of the SF guys; my pref would be in the order you have em.

Baz  / Patrick / Meyer / Senga

Cam Smith. Is this real?
Brent Hershey

I think so. Freak athlete; high draft pick so big pedigree; high baseball IQ with good AB; full season under his belt; runway in Houston.

Looking for 1b help in a H2HP league.  Choose 1 short term (2 weeks) and also long term (ROS) - Aranda, Busch, Muramaki or Burger - Are they the same guy?
Brent Hershey
12:13
Short term: would check schedules for Murakami v Aranda
ROS: Busch slightly over Aranda. Still believe in Busch power rebound.

Hi Brent, Thanks for considering this question.

16 team H2H Points league. We can start only 5 SPs and my top 6 choices (rank by HQ's SP matchup scores) are: Boyd, Bubic, G. Williams, Woo, Cabrera and Valdez.

The last 2 SPs are the real puzzle for me. I generally tend to rate Valdez higher. Our scoring system places twice the value on a QS than a Wins (8 pts vs 4 pts). Hence I'm leaningnstrongly to Valdez (4 QS/5 G) over Cabrera (2 QS/4 G).

Thoughts? And Thanks.
Brent Hershey
12:14
Would agree with your lean ... makes sense with that scoring system that you'd want Valdez in there.

Brent, fact or fluke please  Peraza,Schneeman,Detmers,Hoffman, and keider montero thank you
Brent Hershey
12:16
Really still too early for these, but like what I've seen so far from Detmers and Montero. Skeptical of the hitters; don't know what to think on Hoffman

Hi Brent- Anyone you like in the SF bullpen?  Thx!
Brent Hershey
12:17
Killian intrigues me some; had some moments as a Cubs prospect. But worry more about Vitello never settling on a guy
Tommy
12:19
Are you concerned about Edwin Diaz? Who do you think is next in line in that bullpen?
Brent Hershey
12:19
Yes, I think Scott and Vesia would be next up (assuming Diaz goes on the IL or Roberts removes him temporarily from the role)

Is it time to think about selling low on Micheal Busch??
Brent Hershey
12:19
Not for me, but I might be stubborn. Think it's still in there.

11 team NL only standard roto keeper, 5 man reserve. What to do with Brett Baty? I like his pedigree and his versatility (he’s eligible at outfield and all infield positions except ss), but his production has tanked. Should I stash him on reserve and hope for better or try to find a trading partner and sell low?
Brent Hershey
12:20
Stash, esp in an NL-only. Not a guy I could cut there at this point.
Ron

Happy Monday, Brent.  Not a prospect guy, but in an 18-team redraft, I have Waldschmidt on my bench, with Emerson and Crews on the waiver wire.  Could you could put a guess on the arrival and MLB impact (low, medium) on the trio?
Brent Hershey
12:23
I think each of the three could arrive as early as mid-May. Impact:
I feel Crews, with the prev MLB experience, would have the best chance to make a dent. Waldschmidt better chance than Emerson. All good options, tho.

12 team mixed with QS instead of W. How would you rank Cabrera, Detmers, Abel, Harrison, Baz, Cantillo, Weathers?
Brent Hershey
12:25
Baz, Detmers, Cabrera, Weathers, Abel, Cantillo, Harrison

12:23p UPDATE: Just saw Abel news, obv that move him to the bottom of this list.
Ron
12:26
How concerned are you with Senga; I am holding him a deep league,  Do you think Buehler has better deep league value that middling SP types (e.g., Bassitt, Littell, SWR)?
Brent Hershey
12:26
Don't like what I've seen out of Senga — though this is a tough time to evaluate given that team context. Also would say yes, Buehler a step above those three. Had some hope for SWR given his 2025 finish, but haven't seen it yet.

AL only.  I have avoided CPovich for a few years now... is he suddenly evolved and improved?  or just more gasoline on the fire and "biting my nails every time I watch him"?  (I have enough of those guys...rostering JLopez, et al.)
Brent Hershey
12:35
Is a natural progression after we "discard" some of these players too early. Povich's swinging strike % is higher, and control has been better so far. But remember it's still only 12 IP over 2 outings. Maybe you need to jump on this in an AL-only, but I'm still hoping to see more before I bite.

14 Team 5X5 OPS league. Sell high on Jordon Walker or is his underlying stats the beginning of his break out?
Brent Hershey
12:39
At his age (23!), size and pedigree, I'm inclined to hold, knowing that he'll regress some at some point. Though hard contact (HctX), HR/F and expected power index (xPX) all have shown growth. Never hurts to ask to see what he might bring back, but this isn't a crazy fluke just yet.

Twins just put Abel on IL with elbow inflammation and Sonny Gray left his start today due to injury? Drop Abel for Tolle in 12 mix?
Brent Hershey
12:40
Could see this, yes. Tolle's ERA inflated a bit, but underlying K/BB is strong.

hi brent, do you like some among rea, kremer, griffin, rocker, dollander, kochanowicz, marquez to replace senga? thank you
