Rocker (nice 2-start week), Dollander (don't dismiss just b/c COL), and maybe Rea stand out.

Best closer spec 11 team mixed. Scott, Vesia, De Los Santos, Yates? Thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:42
Scott or De Los Santos

Great start for Noah Schultz yesterday in that little league ballpark. Thoughts on him for 2026?
Brent Hershey
12:44
He's tall.

Also, struggles with control enough that results are likely to be inconsistent this year. Will get lotsa Ks, but K-BB% might not look great and ratios at times could suffer. More interested in him in a keeper setting than a redraft for 2026.

NL only.  Just read a blurb about Christian Scott.  Is he a viable prospect to bid on for near future?  30-40 fab bid of 1000?  or more like 10 bid?
Brent Hershey
12:45
Know your league, but yes, I'd probably lean towards the 30ish range rather than 10. Mets might be more likely than normal to try some new stuff; he would be that.
Erik Miller

I showed some moxy against the Reds and was willing to take on their whole team! Convince the rest of the world I should be the closer for the Giants. No one in that bullpen has a bulldog mentality like me. I was made to be a closer.
Brent Hershey
12:48
You've got the Fastball, intimidating size and mentality to succeed ... but let's throw more strikes. If/when you're able to do that consistently, then perhaps you grab the lion's share of that job. Otherwise, get used to being a committee member.

AL only, obp.  Cowser or JLowe ROS?  ugh and ugh so far.  Am I doomed holding either one?
Brent Hershey
12:51
I'd trust Cowser more ROS. Better power/speed numbers; more patient (walks) in his career. Agreed it ain't pretty right now, though.

Mornin'...games already going...10- team AL -Only. The wires are thin already...gamble on either Antonacci or Peraza now or wait a day or two and hope for a callup like Colt Emerson..or someone else I'm missing? Thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:51
AL only -- yes, take a swing at Antonacci. Won't be a superstar, but should get solid amount of PT now that he's up.

Hi! 12-tm, H2H, category — M McLain, Keaschall, Marsee all have provided little (except for Marsee’s SBs). Drop any for Isabel, Angel Martinez, Dubon, Cole Young or Peraza? Thanks
Brent Hershey
12:54
Only move I might consider in a 12 is Cole Young over McLain, I guess? And would look at it deeper, not sure I would come out that it's the best move. Martinez also a possibility, but don't feel like his job is as secure as Young's.

Hi Brent, The SP Matchup tool continues to give Burrows good marks despite his poor results.  He has a .6 for this week.  What is the tool seeing?
Brent Hershey
1:00
A crazy high hit rate/strand rate combo (41%/62%), very good ball% (34%), stable SwK (12.7%) and not-awful BPV (89). Our 4.57 xERA figure is far from pristine, but IS 2 runs better than his actual ERA. You have my blessing to veer from the tool on this one if you like ... but THAT is what it is seeing, in my estimation.

Ugh ... gonna leave some on the table today, sorry bout that. Will try to pick off a bunch more here quickly

Happy Marathon Day, so many teams needing a SP right now. What would it take to get Rockies to trade Dollander who is pitching well in short bursts and has pedigree of early round pick? What positions in return (2nd base and 3rd base?) and how many and what FV grade? 8 am looking at Cubs as partner who have their infield set for 3-4 years.
Brent Hershey

Put it out of your mind. New front office regime, best young player they have. Dollander is not getting moved right now.

Hi Brett--I'm in a 15-team mixed holds league. Would you drop Seranthony for Varland or Bryan Baker? Thanks.
Brent Hershey
1:02
Not crazy, but no. Seranthony has the full time job right now.

4X4 AL only league with ks instead of whip.  I will need to cut or trade one of the following this week: Eric Lauer, Anthony Kay, Slade Cecconi, Chris Bassitt, or Dene Kremer.  How do you rank these pitchers ROS, and do you see any significant differences between them? Thanks for the advice and for running the chat.
Brent Hershey
1:03
Not a lot of difference to me. I'd lean Lauer or Kay to cut

where are we at on the worry-o-meter regarding Jazz?
Brent Hershey

3 out of 10 (not worried). Still mid-April

Mason Miller in h2h formats - sell sky high?
Brent Hershey

Only you know :-) Depends what the offer is and the fit for your squad. Miller is a monster, though.

Hey Brent, welcome back……I am in a 5x5 NL only league.Need sbs, have enough hitting to be competitive.i can trade Swanson for Nunez and Edman. What are your thoughts…..thank you
Brent Hershey
1:04
Think I'd prefer Swanson. Was hoping we'd see more bat out of NN at this point.

Logan Gilbert. Less K’s higher ERA than last year. Thoughts?

This vet will be fine.

Mayo and Cowser. No power, only Ks. Any "reasonable" expectations to keep these two players in dynasty? Thanks
Brent Hershey
1:05
Age and inexperience of both is reasonable in my view.

11 team NL only standard roto keeper. Has Walker Buehler improved to the point that he’s worth an add?
Brent Hershey

perhaps; bubble guy for me in this format

AL only rotis league with keepers. Just picked up Varland. In spite of what Schneider says, how long do you think Hoffman’s leash? Thanks as always.
Brent Hershey

Could be short; love the Varland add.
