G'afternoon, chatters! Lots to talk about; and the queue is brimming, so let's take some gulps here...

H2H, Daily, QS.  The injury bug has really hurt my SP already. Gavin Williams, Shane Smith, Heaney, Roupp, M. Kelly, Peterson, and Fedde are available to fill 3 SP spots. Possibly 4 if the Glasnow injury is serious.  Please rank for rest of year.
Brent Hershey
12:01
Peterson, Roupp, Williams, Heaney, Smith, Kelly, Fedde. Would like to believe more in Williams — best skills of this group IMO — but struggling to put it all together so far.

H2H QS  Would you start Peterson vs PHI this week? Rate these matchups from your perspective. I have looked at the SP matchups; I need 3 starts for this week.  Ray vs MIL, vs TX; Bibee vs NYY; Smith@ MN; Roupp vs MIL; Bido vs CHW
Brent Hershey
12:03
Yes, would pro use Peterson.
My own ranks on this week's matchups would be Roupp, Ray, Bido, Smith, Bibee

Drop Luis Rengifo who is in your slow start sells column this morning and pick up Tyler Fitzgerald who is hot and had a nice year last year?
Brent Hershey
12:05
I would not in this case; have more confidence in Rengifo's rest of season than Fitz

12:05
hi Brent--can your rank Baty, Nasim Nunez and Sanoja     ROS and longer term?
Brent Hershey
12:05
ROS: Baty, Sanoja, Nunez
Long-term: Baty, Nunez, Sanoja

Hi! In 12-tm H2H category w OBP, drafted Shaw as upside dart (demoted) and Muncy for dependable HR/OBP. But have had to bench Muncy most of year! Is Muncy droppable w the likes of Dylan Moore, Polanco, Otto Lopez, Morel, Ke’Bryan Hayes and Rengifo available at 3B! Thanks
Brent Hershey
12:06
Yeah, rough spot. Think I'd still give Muncy a few weeks if you can, esp in an OBP. But Morel or Rengifo would be the best shots to take if/when you need to move on.

Good morning Brent, NL only 5x5, can you rate these hitter pick-ups  Jesus Sanchez, Norby, Sanoja, verdego and Wagaman.  Any thoughts on Logan henderson? Thx
Brent Hershey
12:07
Sanchez / Norby / Verdugo / Wagaman / Sanoja

Intrigued by Henderson for sure; want to go back and watch yesterday's start. Not sure he stays up right now for MIL, but would assume he's back at some point.

Hi Brett, thanks for answering this question. 16 team H2H Points league

We can start only 5 SPs per week.

My Options:

1. Bubic - 2 starts vs Col & HOU - no brainer
2. Buehler - 2 starts vs CWS, @Cle - OK probable decent outcome
3. Gavin Williams - 2 starts vs NYY, BOS - hate starting anyone against NY - at least it's in CLE
4. Valdez - @KC - OK I guess - his start vs SD wasn't too bad - lack of Ks worrisome
5. Boyd - vs LAD - despite being in CHC, LAD is a tough team

Possible replacements: May @CHC, Bibee vs NYY, Woo @BOS

I like Woo best of the 3 but which SP to drop?

Thoughts? Advice?
Brent Hershey
12:09
Woo instead of Boyd. Not loving Williams right now, but as I mentioned upthread, the potential ceiling still reels me in.

Hi & Thanks! NL 10 team 5x5- do I want to part with $1 m Kepler to FAAB Durbin or Verdugo?
Brent Hershey
12:10
Not Verdugo for sure. Better bet on keeping Kepler instead of unproven rookie UNLESS you feel like you HAVE to take a shot on some SB. But not a good percentage play; just from a track record/experience viewpoint

Player burb on Ryan Walker says in part "if SwK dip continues, we might start to worry"

Swk is down to 6%, from near 13%. Time to worry?
Brent Hershey
12:15
The question back at you is this (and no shade intended here, just worth considering): would you have asked this question if Walker fired a clean save yesterday? If yes, then it's probably worth tracking for you. But the counterpoint is that with relievers, the sample are still so tiny at this point in the season, and skills can fluctuate just like results can.

But to your question ... for me, no, I'm not worrying yet. But a super interesting point to follow. Thanks for that!

Good morning Brent! Thank you for these chats, they are extremely helpful. Can you share your thoughts and compare (to other middle man) hs kim for the ROS? Is he or is he perceived as a platoon player? Thank you
Brent Hershey
12:18
Going to answer this as the LA Kim ... The team's contract and dealings with him point to him as a non-essential piece of that squad. So until he proves me otherwise and LA uses him differently, that's how I'm approaching his role. Platoon, part-timer, able to move around the diamond. Maybe I'll be wrong, but not a fantasy stud by any means.

Good morning Brent! Thank you for these chats. Which are you are #1 and #2 favorite hitters among these for the next months : a-martinez hs kim a-thomas t-taylor? Is any of them than Kepler j-Sanchez or J-Bell? Thank you
Brent Hershey
12:20
Alec Thomas and Martinez slightly over Taylor. Might prefer Thomas to Bell at this point.
Closing time

Good morning Brent! Thank you for taking my question. With Clevinger out of the picture: who is your favorite for saves now? Wilson seems to pitch well. Is the picture any clearer in Miami for you following Sunday’s game? Thank you
Brent Hershey
12:22
Really have no idea ... and I'm not yet convinced any "answer" is consequential. They need to get into a save situation first. And I'm pretty much ignoring that situation.

NL 10 team 5x5. Picked up Tim Tawa and Tom Saggese as injury replacements and have gotten nice results, but one has to go.
Brent Hershey
12:22
Saggese stays.

Hi Brent,I have followed Wilmer Flores for years, concluding all he needed was steady playing time to put up big numbers. It looks like he is getting a shot at full time play in SF this year.Do you think this could be a breakout year for him????
Brent Hershey
12:26
Really don't mean strip away your excitement, but ... Flores is lined up for a career year, yes; though hesitate to call it 'breakout' at age 33 or anticipate 'big numbers.' Remember ... it's still April 21. Definitely ride this wave —esp in deeper leagues — but my expectations are tempered.

I have Colt Keith, Jordan Walker, and Casas on my dynasty team. Can't keep them all if they continue to play like this. How would you rank them long term? Would you be hesitant to drop any of them? Thanks
Brent Hershey
12:29
Casas / Keith / Walker is how I'd rank long-term. Personally, I've seen enough of Walker to make me think he's NOT a long-term anchor piece. Jury is still out on the other two right now for me.

Morning, 10 team mixed 5x5: Who's da bomb for SB production between V. Scott and C. Simpson? I currently have Scott, but he's turned ice cold of late, but with the Rays, will Simpson be more than a utility/pinch-runner? Thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:31
SB only, rest of season, I want Simpson. Scott came in with better additional hit skills (more pop; mainly but improved a ton from last year to this year as we saw in spring), but the SB boost Simpson can give is much higher. We absolutely, though, need to factor in the Rays, and not be surprised if he's not an everyday guy. BUT, flipside -- his CF defense (much like Scott, really) could keep him there. Both will likely be streaky.

With a nod to Easter, how long before Roman and Christian are brought up, and the jump-start bunnies, Ceddanne R. and Kyren P. traded or sent down to make room?
Brent Hershey
12:36
Cute ... Roman before Christian (Moore, I'm assuming), who has gotten off to a horrible start. Promotion could come soon for Anthony. BUT, a couple related comments/thoughts:
  1. Highly doubt Ceddanne goes back down to minors. HUGE improvement in underlying K rate; his versatility and D value means they'll find a place for him; they didn't sign him to that huge deal to option him down to AAA
  2. What makes us think Moore wouldn't go through exactly what Paris is going through now (down week)? He's more likely to get sent down, but also like Rafaela, the mulit-positional aspect of his game is a super asset, esp with health histories of Trout/Soler/ other Angels.

What to make of Luis Robert Jr?  His numbers are dismal, but is it due solely to his Hit%?  Is there any hope for a rebound?
Brent Hershey
12:38
For now, not big on a potential rebound. A trade out of that situation might change my mind. Not someone I'm targeting in a fantasy trade right now; but/and you probably have to just keep him if you have him on your squad and see what happens.
