Happy Friday, chatters! Not my usual spot, but Ray is on vaca this week, so I'm pulling double-duty. Thanks for the list of questions already, feel free to keep em coming over the next hour ....

Is the opener for dollander gonna be a thing for the foreseeable future?
Brent Hershey
12:02
No idea ... but not sure it matters in most leagues the way he's pitching. Two of his nice lines have been a home, even. Too early to say he's conquered Coors, but unless you have some rule about only starting guys who start in the majors, Dollander should be a serious lineup consideration each week.

NL-only, 5X5.  My second catcher is Joey Bart and he's been less than impressive.  Would it make sense to pick up the (hopefully) soon-to-return Sean Murphy to replace him?
Brent Hershey
12:03
Eh, might be the least-damaging move, just in terms of fewer AB. Usually don't recommend something like this, but just don't see Murphy getting much PT with how well Baldwin and Dom Smith are playing right now. Which ... maybe is better than Bart getting more AB. Continue your search in either case.

Ortiz has experienced a brutal start at the plate.  Quite the opposite for Jesus Made, albeit in AA.  Is there a non-zero chance the Crew bring Made up sooner rather than later?
Brent Hershey
12:06
Yeah, non-zero, but I still think it's unlikely, especially soon. Not quite sure I'm following MIL in this case ... they locked up Cooper Pratt, a SS prospect ahead of Made's timetable; after playing Made a bunch at 2B in spring, he's only played SS in AA. And of course you're not moving Turang off 2B, I don't think. All that says to me they are fine with giving Made another full year in the minors, and they'll address the logjam later.

1.Need to fill a UT slot for a player out for 6 weeks. Barrosa, Tena, Jose Fermin, Conforto or Pauley? Or am I better off with zero stats until someone better becomes available?
Standard 5x5 NL-only very deep league
Brent Hershey
12:07
I always try to avoid zeros; that's just me. That said, options aren't great. I'd probably try Barrosa, Pauley or Conforto, ranked in that order.

Do you see any upside to P Lambert? K Rocker? C Povich? JR Ritchie?  or B Young? (16 team, mixed, 5x5). Thanks
Brent Hershey
12:10
Ranked in terms of upside, I'd go Rocker/Povich/Ritchie/Lambert/Young, with an emphasis on the first three, though still fuzzy on if/when Povich/Ritchie are sure things to be up/ stay around. Rocker and Lambert better bets if that's the case. Young a distant 5th here.

AL only, standard rotis league with keepers. QS+W’s as one category. I have both Peyton Tolle and Noah Schultz. Thinking of trading one for offense. Who do you rank as a better long term keeper? Thanks as always.
Brent Hershey
12:11
Tolle the better keeper. Better team context, and strong history of going deeper into games than Schultz.

Hi Brent! As always, thank you! NL 10 team 5x5 do I hang onto a $4 Sasaki (hoping he gets sent down & gets better) To activate JR Ritchie, or to grab a potential closer in Mason Montgomery or Gus Varland or one 1 of 4 Giants? I lost Edwin Diaz and have only Sewald for saves. If I activate Richie, he loses his minor league status, so I’m not sure how long he’ll be up.
Brent Hershey
12:16
Losing Diaz, I'd look to closer specs even if you need to reserve Sasaki. Probably pick a Giant before Montgomery (Killian, maybe?) but if you get outbid MM could be fine, too. Wonder if PIT plays out the Santana/Soto thing up through the trade deadline, then turns to Montgomery. I'd likely try to find current saves - even ugly ones - somewhere now.

Jorge Soler has been solid so far. Is it sustainable?
Brent Hershey
12:19
Health has been a big part of it ... but that, plus some metrics that have slipped (ct%, exit velocity, overall expected power [xPX]) as a 34-year-old points to no, this is not sustainable.

Happy Friday Brent. I need to drop two of the following pitchers this FAAB period. Who do you think will be able to contribute the most for the rest of the season from the following: Josh Hader, Dean Kremer and Joe Musgrove.
Brent Hershey
12:20
I'd hang onto Hader, unless you really feel like you really will want/need a SP down the road. Then, Musgrove.

AL only, Saves/Holds league, 10 player reserve.  Who would you hold and please rank for ROS holds:  AJMinter, JEstrada, PMaton?
Brent Hershey
12:24
I'd hold onto one, yes, if you have to choose. My rank would be Maton/ Estrada / Minter

Is Rob Snelling worth a spec bid yet at this juncture? I am very squeamish about rookie pitchers up for the first time, regardless of their pedigree. Plus I think there is chance that Thomas White makes it to the big leagues first for Miami.
Brent Hershey
12:26
Your squeamishness is well-founded ... but yeah, it's tough to resist when you see numbers like Snelling is putting up. White's better long-term, but with the spring injury, I wonder if Snelling is up first. I guess you could take a cheap bid on Snelling, but I wouldn't go crazy.

Hi Brent - Pitcher Matchup Tool at BBHQ is giving Peter Lambert some high green numbers.  Are you trusting the science?
Brent Hershey
12:33
I'm intrigued after watching some of that start this week; fastball was better than I anticipated. Will probably have some rope there given the decimated rotation. Throwing strikes, getting whiffs. Small sample, but skills are good. So ... yes.
Porcho Villa
12:35
Who's the better hold for saves only - Keller or Vesia? Vesia has much better skills but seems to be option 1B at best with Scott in the driver's seat, while Keller appears to be the guy (albeit for an inferior team) for however long Duran is out.
Brent Hershey
12:35
Keller, though both of these managers will go back to sharing the role that they were famous for before get THE GUY. Will make it frustrating for us.

Hi Brent,  do you think Volpe is a top 10 SS ROS when returns? Swanson is much better play in redraft 5x5 correct?  Also how much does Caballero play after Volpe returns? 75%?
Brent Hershey
12:36
a. No, SS is too deep.
b. Yes
c. Think that's about right. Caballero's versatility on a team that has some vets with injury history should work on his favor. PT will come down some, but not a crazy amount IMO.

Should I start Gavin Sheets in Mexico City this weekend over Vinnie Pasquantino?
Brent Hershey

Yes, I would, since he should play both games

Concerned about Keaschall's early performance and recent lineup drop. He is currently my only 2B, and I'm looking for a plan B (ideally to start while he figures it out on my bench). Who's the best bet: Mauricio, Baty, or Clement (all three are 2B/3B eligible)? This is 5x5 H2H categories with OBP.
Brent Hershey
12:43
I'd probably play it safe with Clement - BA, even though not much else so far. In a solid MLB lineup. Baty next. Mauricio the gamble; should get PT and has loudest skills, but hasn't done it at MLB level yet and likely not an OBP helper.

4x4 AL only keeper league with ks instead of WHIP.  I've been offered Luis Castillo (Mariners) and Tanner McDougal or Jasson Dominguez for Payton Tolle.  Should I take the offer, and, if so, which one?  Thanks.
Brent Hershey
12:45
Nope. Tolle the best player of those mentioned, especially in this format. Hang tight.

hi Brent, how much more patience should I use with l acuna and j ortiz which are on my bench with castro and i vargas? Thank you
Brent Hershey
12:46
Joey Ortiz - not much; think you can probably move on. Acuna - maybe some more patience, just b/c of the SB. But there's a real chance he can't hit, period.

Hi Brent, Lindor owner here. Can’t replace him with waiver wire pick ups, but I do have Anthony Volpe coming back soon. Any new updates on when he might be activated?
