Good Monday, chatters! Queue is already full, but continue to keep it so ... I'll get through as many as I can. Thanks for the support, and let's fly ...

How bad is the back of my rotation in an NL only 12 team with Reynaldo Lopez, Pfaadt, and Littell?  I reserved them all now but what happened here? Can you offer me a glimmer of hope. lol Thank you!
Brent Hershey
12:01
Yeah, rough, esp in NL-only. I'd hold "hope" out for them in the order you listed. Think you can move on from Littell, but there's some success in the past of the other two. Good luck!

I have Marcell Ozuna in a NL-only 5x5 league.  BHQ's projections are pretty rosy, but he hit .062 last week.  Hold or kick him to the curb?  Nate Lowe would be a likely replacement.
Brent Hershey
12:01
I'm not off Ozuna entirely, esp in NL-only, but I'd prefer Lowe in the short term for sure.

Happy Monday yet again, Brent!

Looking for a little help sorting out which young pitchers to invest in at the back end of my roster in my 12-team dynasty league.

Amongst the group of Jonah Tong, Logan Henderson, JR Ritchie, and River Ryan ... how do you rank this group?
Brent Hershey
12:03
Ryan, Tong, Henderson and Ritchie, ranking them on long-term upside. Super impressed with Ritchie's start last week, but not the knockout pitches of the others. More of a high-floor, stable mid-rotation starter future it seems.

Hi Brent do you think Perkins becomes the closer for the A's?
Brent Hershey
12:05
My teams hope so! Got shares both last week and this one. But back in MLB reality, still not sure, just b/c Kotsay/A's seem to like to mix/match. The injury history as a starter, high sw/miss profile AND possible opportunity look good right now, though.

Hi Brent. what do you think ids wrong with Rogers [ Balt] would you start him against the Yankees?
Brent Hershey
12:08
Think the profile always has been more command than stuff based. Ball% is up from last year's breakout, so that seems like a factor. You might not have better choices, but @NYY this week seems risky.

AL only, standard rotis with keepers. W and QS as one category. Have both Schultz and Tolle still in the minors and need to activate by next week. Due to injuries, here’s my current rotation:
Bradish, Cantillo, Gilbert, Ragans, and Woo.
Brown and Gray on the IL.
Are Bradish and Cantillo the obvious choices to waive for the two rookies? Or do I trade one for hitting. Thanks as always.
Brent Hershey
12:12
In your situation, seems Tolle >>>> Schultz, who is on worse team (despite current record) and hasn't consistently shown he gets deep into games. I'd look to trade Schultz; I guess Cantillo would be the cut for Tolle but use this week's data point for Bradish v Cantillo also. Would explore trade market for those two as well if you're able (rather than just cut for nothing)

Hi Brent, Thanks for considering this question.

16 team H2H Points league. We can start only 5 SPs, Boyd & Bubic are definite starters. My preferred last 3 are: Woo, G. Williams and Cabrera. Sitting Valdez, Bibee and Ober, though Bibee is rated a bit higher than Cabrera, and Valdez has not done well lately.

Agree? Disagree?

My 2nd question has to do with who to start at 2B, CI and UT. After considering the pitching matchups, I thought my best options are:

2B - Stott (vs 5 RHP)
CI - Baty (vs 5 RHP)
DH - Manzardo (vs 4 RHP) or Beavers (vs 3 RHP + 1 TBD)

I am leaving Shaw and McNeil on the bench. (Shaw seems to be losing PT and McNeil faces 4 LHP this week)

If I was reasonably certain that Springer would activated this week, I'd slot him in at UT instead of Manzardo or Beavers. Too risky?

Thoughts? And Thanks.
Brent Hershey
12:16
Q1: Agree.
Q2: Sounds like Springer could make it back. Might lean that way for DH. Also might consider benching Stott; move Baty to 2B and Manz to COR. Stott just not hitting well right now

Head to head 12 team that plays OBP.  Currently holding Nimmo and Teocsar Hernandez and getting frustrated.
Brent Hershey
12:17
I would have more faith in Teo than Nimmo.

Hello Brent! Thank you guys for doing this. In a 12-team H2H points league and W's are the main driver. What are the two pitchers from the group you like for ROS: Baz, Flaherty, Brady Singer, Kyle Harrison, Chase Dollinger, Davis Martin, Kumar Rocker, Sean Burke

Appreciate the input!
Brent Hershey
12:18
Harrison and ... Rocker or Baz, I guess.
Bones
12:19
Oneil Cruz looks human. Trade him while his value is highest? Or he is the real deal.
Brent Hershey
12:19
Real deal is that this streakiness is what you're gonna get - highs and lows. Need to decide if you can live with that or not.

Will Josh Baez or Emmanuel Rodriguez play in the majors this year?
Brent Hershey
12:20
Yes, think both will at some point (though Rodriguez has to stay healthy)
will
12:21
Brent, thank you. 4x4 AL only  ROS KeiderM or Rocker Perkins or Taylor, Mayer or Massey and Grfissom or muncy?
Brent Hershey
12:21
Rocker / Perkins / Mayer / Muncy

Morning Brent,  AL only league Appreciate your input. ROS Erceg keep his Job as closer? whos is new CL in Angel land, does Grant Taylor overtakeSD and is Lambert a legit SP for Houston
Brent Hershey
12:23
Erceg - don't think he's a full-season solution, but might as well ride him for now
LAA - hard to say; Silseth might be worth watching, tho
Taylor - CHW have said they want him to start next year, so don't feel like 2026 saves are on the docket, even though I love the pitcher
Lambert - I'm interested. HOU makes SPs better; he'll have a shot with all those injuries for now.

Hey Brent,Randy Vasquez (SD) is available. Is he as good as he looks and should I grab him?
Brent Hershey

Yes on both counts!

4x4 Roto, AL-Only.

Please rank ROS:
1.) OF:  J.Loperfido, G. Valera, C. Cortes, C. Thomas
2.) MI:  S. Antonacci, O. Perazza, B. Rocchio, J. Baez

Thank you. Appreciate all you do.
Brent Hershey
12:25
  1. Agree w/ your order
  2. Rocchio / Peraza / SamAn / Baez
Who knows?
12:28
Much of the speculation pre-season was that C. Moore would figure prominently in LAA's plans this year.  Instead they seem intent on dragging out average-at-best Frazier and Moncada, an equally unproven Grissom and the best of the bunch (so far) Peraza.  Does Moore get his shot? What are your expectations?  Thanks.
Brent Hershey
12:28
If he tames his Ks, then I'm interested again. 24 K in 21 games in AAA so far (.219 BA) says still work to do. Getting walks here, but only 2 HR in Salt Lake. LAA prob gives him a another shot in mid-season either way ... but needs to make more contact.
Leo
12:28
NL only.  My patience with RLopez is thinning.  I am better off picking up Sproat and/or JRitchie for ROS?  Or better to ride it out with Lopez?
Brent Hershey
12:28
Yea, I'd prefer the youngsters. Ritchie before Sproat for me.
Peter
12:31
Hi Brent, Nola's ERA is 6.03; however, his FIP = 4.63 and his SIERRA=3.81. Better days ahead? or stop the bleeding and drop him? Keep or Drop?
Brent Hershey
12:31
The hard contact, HR and random blowup innings are frustrating. Getting to the point where he's getting that Javier Vasquez (and others) thing where you just have to let go of the positive metrics and focus on the results. Which are rough.

Humble request: an updated BHQ100. Lots of graduations and some new breakout names to consider.
Brent Hershey
12:33
Yeah, too early; not MiLB enough data (or staff manpower) for us to do it adequately. We are considering some other types of updates as we get further towards midseason (as well as our mid-season Top 50). Appreciate the feedback, though ... trying to thread the needle!

Hi Brent - waiting patiently on Tatis to hit a homerun.  I'm sure he'll go on a run but how soon?
