Ready to go here ... will be great to get some in-season questions rolling. Though remember -- it's three games. Standard rules apply again; help me out with quick lg settings in your question, will help me out greatly. Lots to cover; let's overreact together, ha!

Brent, happy Monday!

What are your thoughts on Jonathan India? HQ's projections for him seem to be as favorable as anywhere else. Plate skills + developing power = potential building block?
Brent Hershey
12:08
Thanks, Reds -- to you as well. Obviously early returns on India have been great so far. Not sure I'd go building block just yet, but the narrative seems to be a player who benefitted from the Alt site camp last year, and used it as a springboard for bigger things. Great situation there in CIN, where they cleared a space for him for sure. I'm def keeping an eye on him (and in one league, patiently waiting for that 2B eligibility).

What star hitters look completely lost at the plate right now?
Brent Hershey
12:09
Too early to make any judgements on that ... remember if this is June and your star hitter had a three-game slump, we'd hardly notice. Next week -- when we have ~10 games -- we can BEGIN to address this. Just hold tight for now, tho!

Goodness, Ketel Marte looks BACK! What do you think about him for this season, and could he be an example of a '20 SSS bargain?

Thanks! :-)
Brent Hershey
12:13
That's certainly a possible outcome. We were concerned some about exit velo and statcast-ish regression in 2020, but spring training and 3 games so far have me wondering a bit. Could be a great value for some if this keeps up.

Good morning, all! True or false: Kendall Graveman saves 15 games this year.
Brent Hershey
12:16
That's a tough line. I'll say false, but ... in watching that first outing and getting some spring reports, it's a lot closer than I ever thought at any point in the pre-season. I think the Montero lack of track record and/or the likelihood he gets dealt at some point enhances Graveman's profile as as stash right now. Looks like a different guy than what we saw in OAK.

Raisel Iglesias:  any cause for concern yet?
Brent Hershey
12:20
No. Velo looks fine; still getting swings/misses. Fri was not good and threw too many pitches last night when they tried to stretch him, but I'm still on board.

NL only, for MI/ Swiss Army Knife, please rank: Josh Rojas, Chris Taylor, Jake Cronenworth.
Brent Hershey
12:21
Cronenworth, Rojas, Taylor. Cautiously optimistic Jake has won that 2B job in SD. In NL only, any could work -- think Taylor, though, gets squeezed especially if Lux nails down that spot.

NL only, for my last outfielder or Utility player, please rank: Slater, Alford, Quinn,Brinson, Locastro.
Brent Hershey
12:23
As AB rule in only leagues, the first two are far more interesting than the final three. I'd put Brinson last, and pick which speed guy you like for #3/4. Maybe Locastro, since Quinn can't stay on the field?

A I Garcia or Gregory Polanco?
Brent Hershey
12:25
Reading this as Avasaí García, I'd take him, even with the PT question marks IF everyone gets healthy. Great ballpark, better lineup, less injury risk.

I'm in a head-to-head points league where starting pitching is at a premium, so I need to be thoughtful about the relievers I carry. Scoring is 8 pts for Saves, 6 for W's, 2 for Holds, 1 for K, 1.5 for INN, -.5 for walks. Out of McGee, Neris, Gallegos, Ottavino, and Antone who has the least potential value? Thanks for taking the time.
Brent Hershey
12:28
Either Ottavino or Gallegos. GG: Like the stuff, but think Reyes and Hicks will be better, and he's got no chance of starting. AO: just don't trust him as a closer, though he does seem to have a part in the job now. I'd hang onto Antone for sure; think he could start eventually.

Hi, Brent! I'd love to hear a list (maybe Top 5 or so?) of your current favorite NON-closer relievers. Thanks -- I LOVE this feature! :-)
Brent Hershey
12:32
I'd gravitate toward rock-solid setup guys, even if they're behind solid closers. So T May, Shane Green, Devin Williams, Barlow, Graveman, maybe? This is a tough Q, given all the quasi- and full-on committees there seems to be this year.

Seemed like the #1 ww. Thoughts today on Julian Merryweather.
Brent Hershey
12:34
Not 100% convinced he's the locked-in guy; so I didn't snag him anywhere on FAAB yesterday. Love the stuff, but wonder if TOR is one of those situations where they share it (case can be made that in both saves, Romano came in to face better hitters in the 8th). Maybe he runs with it ... I just don't have enough data yet to make that leap.

Thoughts on trading for Kyle Tucker in a 10-team 5x5 (OBP) keeper league?
Brent Hershey
12:39
In a 10-teamer, kinda lukewarm ... never has had plus BB% so not like his OBP is going to help you. Of course if you can get him cheap ... but would not be a targeted player for me in that format I don't think.
Kyler
12:39
Super small sample but who has impressed you so far?
Brent Hershey
12:39
Zach Eflin.

12:42
Chicago's pair of young multi-inning relievers - Crochet and Kopech - looked good this weekend. Are they playing their way into fantasy relevance for shallower leagues?
Brent Hershey
12:42
Shallow leagues; kinda hard to see it unless you've got holds and/or have a deep bench. I've got Kopech stashed in a couple places, hoping that he moves to the rotation later in the season. And some think that Crochet is still a long-term starter, but Kopech ahead of him in that pecking order. Otherwise, with the bullpen depth they have there, don't see a clear path for either
Randy
12:43
Who of this group would you add in a H2H points league: Luis Arraez, Ty France or Chazz Chisholm?
Brent Hershey
12:43
France, probably -- though might consider Arraez more now w/ Donaldson down. Jazz too risky w/ his swing and miss
TT
12:46
Worth picking up Merryweather and dropping Bass? Or is it 6/one; 1/2 dozen of the other?
Brent Hershey
12:46
Example where categories matter. If it's only saves you're after, then probably still even, as don't think they move away from Bass after one BS. But Merryweather with far better stuff, and even if he isn't the full time saves guy, Ks will be high and if he moves back into multi-inning role, that's especially true.

Also easy to forget that Merryweather has some injury risk attached, too. That's a big reason why his name wasn't bandied about more in the offseason.
Joe Swanson
12:48
John Means was impressive against Boston on Friday. HQ seemed to like him projections-wise and tagged him with some upside. Thoughts on him as a back-end rotation player in 10-team leagues? Currently he's my SP6.
Brent Hershey
12:48
In 10s and 12s, I think he's still a stream guy for now. But exactly right that he was impressive v BOS and another several weeks of that level, and he could move into more of a regular fantasy starter. Change-up moves like crazy. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Looking for more speed in 12-team H2H 5x5 OBP. Would you hold Myles Straw or dump for Margot, Isbel, Leody, or Michael Taylor?
Brent Hershey
12:50
Right now, think I'd prefer Margot to Straw -- but Straw better than the rest. Michael Taylor weekend is a mirage, but need to see more of Isbel and Leody. They could pass Straw for me at some point.
Porcho Villa
12:51
Manaea a hold? Or would you drop for an upside arm like F. Peralta? Rough start yesterday, but velocity was fine.
Brent Hershey
12:51
Kinda think that's who Manea is -- inconsistent; great when he's on b/c of ratio protection. Has his place on a roster, but can't expect miracles. Obv Peralta higher risk but higher reward. Might go w/ Freddy here.

In an OBP redraft, who do you like better: Andrew Vaughn or Brandon Nimmo?
