Is it finally time to trust Eduardo Rodriguez again in fantasy after two stellar outings?
Brent Hershey
12:50
Not definitively, but he's definitely on my watchlist. Trust requires a longer runway.
Rocky
12:51
How patient should 10-team owners with 30 roster spots be with Blake Snell?
Brent Hershey
12:51
In a 10, he's borderline, I imagine. Bench depth and hope for a hot streak.
Kyle
12:52
Is Taj Bradley someone you'd recommend buying high on, especially if you lost out on Jeffrey Springs?
Brent Hershey
12:52
Yes ... at this point, near the top of the rookie pitcher class b/c of his early call. Stuff, winning team, great org -- lotsa positives.

12:53
Any thoughts on James Paxton and his role when he does get recalled?  Worried about Springer or Kwan's recent slumps?
Brent Hershey
12:53
Just me, but not sure I'd push Paxton too hard into the rotation given his health history. Perhaps shorter stints are better. Kinda too early to take much stock into slumps for proven guys like Springer/Kwan.

Your thoughts on Canning going forward in 5x5 mixed league. Thanks Brent
Brent Hershey
12:54
On board in 15-teamers for sure; and in some 12s. Not a sure-fire guy to count on given injuries, but the flashes in the past make me open to riding him where it makes sense.

Can Jordan Diaz be useful in deep leagues?
Brent Hershey
12:55
Right now I think he's an AL-only player. Should get run; stick has shown some life in his past. Could graduate into 15-tm mixed relevance if he sticks.

Looks like BOS got tired of Hernandez's defense at short and moved him to 2b and that BOS may not like Arroyo's defense at short, either.  That would seem to leave Arroyo on the outside looking in.  Is that right?
Brent Hershey
12:57
Seems like things are leaning that way, and the possible later additions of Mondesi and Story will likely only escalate it. Arroyo window might be nearly closed; just needed to hit and didn't.

Jordan Walker or Brett Baty, both ROS and as keepers? (12 team 5x5 OBP)
Brent Hershey
12:58
Big Baty fan, but Walker on both cases. Has a power gear that Baty doesn't.

12:59
What do you make of Domingo German? K’s and SwK off the charts seemingly out of nowhere. Seem sustainable?
Brent Hershey
12:59
Things looking up for sure. Had him pegged as a decent 6th starter type in the preseason, and he's run with that role when the opportunity was presented. Still some volatility for me, but a nice step up.

How worried are you about Tylor Megill's slow start?  Is he worth holding onto for the upside?
Brent Hershey
1:00
Not too worried; but given the state of Mets SP, I think you hold for now. Wouldn't have a super long leash, though -- MLB results have been thin overall

one more! Paul Dejong - if he hits, where will he find the PT? The Cardinals have to trade some offensive surplus don't they?
Brent Hershey
1:01
Maybe short-side platoon guy if he hits. Not sure even with a trade he would be a STL starter.

Kirk’s power outage this year is even worse than his falloff 2H last year (both in results and under the hood). Starting to seem like the 1H power last year was the fluke. Even though plate skills are still top notch, would you move on for Heim or Raleigh?
Brent Hershey
1:02
I'd prefer Raleigh for sure; and Heim's building a good start on last year's foundation. Probably would still prefer Kirk to Heim, but could change.

In a 10-team NL only, 5x5 roto, are either Tucupita Marcano or Mark Mathias useful? Do you see extended PT for either of them (I'd have to sit Sam Hilliard and Wendel on my bench to keep them on my roster)
Brent Hershey
1:04
I'd want Hilliard in my lineup over either of the PIT infielders, and likely Wendle, too, when he comes back. Marcano and Mathias are worth tracking, but have not seen anything from either that screams "starter".

Drafted Drey Jameson in an NL keeper league last year thinking he would emerge at the back end of the AZ pen. Is it unrealistic to think he can be in the saves mix by end of this year? He does not seem to have the mix or command to be an SP, as yesterday's outing against a good SD lineup revealed.
Brent Hershey
1:06
Nope, not unrealistic -- as far back as last year, there were scouts who had questions about DJ starting and thought his stuff would transfer well to the bullpen. Still has to throw strikes there, though ... but the high-octane arm is worth hanging onto in a keeper lg just to see what happens. Non-zero chance he figures it out as a starter, but some back-end RP potential there also.

CJ Abrams has increased his BB rate a bit in 2023 but weak contact destines him for the bottom of a moribund Nats lineup. I'm in a deep NL keeper league and I know Abrams is still only 22, but he's looking like fool's gold. Time to find a buyer or hold?
Brent Hershey
1:09
Oh, I'm holding. Guy was a huge pedigree prospect, has big SB upside, and in the minors and when he was drafted was considered to have more punch in the bat than what he's shown. Might have been rushed to the majors, but think WAS is doing the right thing here ... playing him every day and having him learn MLB ropes from there. I get that you might not be able to wait, but I'm not losing hope yet.
Brent Hershey

Ugh, won't get to all of these, sorry. Several more quickies to come ...

Hi Brent. BHQ's ROS projection (4.14 ERA, 1.27 WHIP) for Jose Berrios is pretty mediocre, and his YTD stats are ugly (6.23 ERA, 1.20 WHIP), but he's got a 3.45 xERA, 138 BPV, and 19% K-BB%, which is comparable to his best season in 2021 (136 BPV, 20 K-BB%, $22). What kind of ERA and WHIP would you expect for Berrios going forward?
Brent Hershey
1:11
I'm in line w/ the BHQ projection though readily admit '23 skills have been better.

Does Chapman start seeing save opps in KC soon?
Brent Hershey

Much closer to reality than I thought was possible pre-season, yes.

Hey Brent, thanks for doing this. If you had to part with one of the following SPs  in a H2H cats league, who would it be?
Urias - Musgrove - H Greene
Brent Hershey

Tough. Musgrove.
