I got a bunch of questions like this and I really don't have a compelling answer for why people in Oakland should care anymore

Beyond inertia, the best thing I can come up with is that the players had nothing to do with this situation and they're doing the best they can. But if you're a Bay Area native who has been a lifelong A's fan, it seems totally justified to decide you're done with the organization now that they're moving on from the city

Real fans show up to support their team no matter what.

The spirit of the question -- one that a handful of people in here have expressed -- is why they should remain a real fan if the franchise is leaving. I think that's totally justified if the root of your fandom is geographical
