Happy Monday; thanks for joining whether in real-time or afterwards! Lotsa player movement and role shifts in MLB this time of year; we should have plenty to chat about -- and the queue agrees. Still time to get your Qs in, though. Let's get rollin'...

In playoffs starting next week (12-tm, weekly H2H category, w OBP)! Freeman, Ortiz, or Keith — for disappointing Holliday @2B? Need 3rd/4th OFs — please rank all-round category help: Arozarena, Doyle, Laureano, Beaver? Thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:07
Keith would be the only one I'd consider for Holliday ... off the cuff, seems like "disappointing" might be stretching it, but I do see the OBP, perhaps in that sense. Still would think JH gives you more juice that Freeman/Ortiz, though.

OF: Laureano, RandyA, Doyle, Beavers.

Congrats and good luck in the playoffs!
Rick

Hey Brent, In a Dynasty League, keep Beavers or the Password?
Brent Hershey
12:08
Beavers. More well-rounded; current path to PT points to more future stability.

Hi Brent,

Thanks for answering this question.

Ian Seymour P, TB is listed on CBS as starting against CLE and WAS this week. Opener? What can we expect? Seymour's performance to date hasn't been very good.
Brent Hershey
12:11
More than an opener; was in AAA rotation all season with some interesting numbers:  2.62 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 104K/20BB in 86 IP. Wouldn't count on 7 innings or anything given his MLB bullpen work, but this is a bonfide starter, and slotting into Joe Boyle's spot. Intriguing at least.

4x4 AL only keeper 2026 barger or beavers jeffers or caratini or basallo vargas or baldwin and ROS in order alexander, javier, bergert, houser THANK YOU BRENT!
Brent Hershey
12:15
2025: Barger / Basallo / Vargas
ROS: probably the order you have them, though the only one I'm set on for sure is Houser #4. Would like to see a good start our of Javier before I recommend; Alexander seems like a flash in the pan but could hold onto a spot the rest of the way. And some interesting pitch characteristics w/ Bergert.

Do we risk starting Robles this week or should we expect his suspension to start?
Brent Hershey
12:18
No idea. Recently it seems like MLB tries to settle these appeals quickly, so could get a ruling this week. Often the appeals reduce the sentence, so maybe it gets reduced to 7 or 5G. But most of all, your league rules matter here ... if you have to set today and can't move all week if he starts suspension, I think I'd play it safe. But that's me trying to read the mind of MLB (never an easy exercise).

Good morning...pick two for this week L Butler, B Baty, L Garcia , P DeJong...thank you!
Brent Hershey
12:19
Baty (hot) and Butler (platooning, but 5/6 RHP and at home all week).

Good Morning Brent- Any thoughts for next year about Jhostynxon Garcia and CJ Kayfus for AL only league?
Brent Hershey
12:22
Pure playing time spec -- like Kayfus' situation in CLE (openings; 1B/OF flexility) better than Garcia's in BOS. In AL-only, Garcia could still be a fringe keeper, but that's a pretty full OF right now from where we sit.

Good morning Brent!
12-team H2H points redraft league and in the playoffs so this week is critical. Hate to hit you up with so much but here goes!

2B – Baty/Brooks Lee/Jeff McNeil/Bryson Stott/Caleb Durbin

OF/DH (3 spots available) – Laureano/Ward/Andujar/C Simpson/I Collins and the biggest of questions is do I activate Yordan Alvarez in which case I have 2 slots for the choices above.

SP – I have two starts from Boyd, Woodruff, and Ryan but any thoughts in considering Bieber or Trevor Rogers for one start instead?

RP – Cade Smith is going to give me a heart attack and Cleveland doesn’t win. Other options I’m considering are Ferrer, Abreu

Thank you so much!
Brent Hershey
12:32
No problem ... going to use our SP Matchups tool here (for both batter and pitchers) for additional color ...

2B - Lee (Durbin #2)
OF/DH: Think you do activate Yordan, partially b/c he's facing COL and LAA. Laureano and Collins (7G week) my 2 and 3. Ward probably #4
SP: Hard to sit Trevor Rogers right now. Would consider him instead of Boyd, though not a slam dunk. Bieber a nice option also, but can't pass up the Woodruff/Ryan two-steps.
RP: Abreu

15 team Mixed, HOLDS league.  Need to drop 1 of:  LVarland,  KLeahy, Yariel Rodriguez.   All have hurt me recently but which one will be the worst ROS?  Could rank them ROS?
Brent Hershey
12:33
In drop order: Leahy, Yariel, Varland

12:34
Hi Brent. In a 5X5 H2H OBP league, please rank the following hitters ROS (without regard to positional eligibility): Addison Barger, Andrew Vaughn, Bryson Stott. Thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:34
You've got the order I'd put them in. Could quibble with Vaughn over Barger I guess, but Stott easy #3 (though he's looked a ton better recently)

10 team AL 4x4 please rank. Favorites of Abreu, Bergert, Messick, Schlittler, Topa, Jacob Lopez and Newcomb.  Need ERA and saves. Thx for the chat!
Brent Hershey
12:36
Assuming Bryan Abreu ... Abreu, Schlittler, Berget, Messick, Topa, Newcomb, Lopez. Could flip Berget/Messick if you prefer.
Bryan

Brent,  Thanks for chat! 9 team AL 4X4 with OBP vs BA. Please give your favorite 5 of following; N Lowe, Basallo, Beavers, Keith, c Williams, Rengifo, Jung, Jiminez and Tauchman. Thx
Brent Hershey
12:38
Not necess in order, but: Keith, Tauchman, Basallo, Beavers, Lowe. Jung would be my next choice, less risk than Basallo/Beavers of course.

10 Tm NL only.  I need saves.  Vodnick, O'Brien, or Saalfrank ?
Brent Hershey
12:39
Vodnik; though O'Brien if you're Coors-averse

Morning, fighting for 3rd place very tight, would you start Paddack, need wins or go with F.Cruz comming off the DL,that is the best I got! afraid Paddack is going to get blown up.
Brent Hershey
12:41
With good reason. Our SP numbers have Paddack as one of the worst SP scores this week. Anything can happen—doesn't seem like KC should be a challenge—but Cruz is viable. Good luck!

Good morning Brent.  Thanks in advance.  16 Team mixed Roto league (HR, DT, RP, SB, and OBP).  Trying to finish in the money. Going to add Y Alvarez.  Have to cut an expensive guy to fit under cap.  Some are hot, some are cold.  Who should go for ROS only:  Happ, Albies, Reynolds, Rafaela?   2nd Question:  Have G Moreno coming off IL.  Would you cut Yainer Diaz or I Herrera to make room.  Herrera is a potential keeper for us in 2026.
Brent Hershey
12:42
1) I'd cut Albies pretty easily from this group
2) I would not, no. Like Moreno, but he's #3 for me in that group, esp in a keeper situation

12:46
in NL only - please rank ROS - McCarthy (Arizona), Riley Adams (Wash), Triolo, Nick Gonzales, Matos, T Johnson (Miami), Pages (St Louis), Fermin (St Louis), Suwinski, Chaparro
Brent Hershey
12:46
Too many to fully rank, but these 2 stand out:
Gonzales - playing every day (essential in NL-only); not flashy but solid hitter
Matos - SOUNDS like SF are giving him another every-day shot. Power and speed upside
Triolo, McCarthy and Suwinski have some limited appeal but PT is questionable.

Would you rather have Alcantara, Waldrep, McLean or Bradish ROS?
Brent Hershey
12:46
Waldrep with Alcantara next

Hi Brent   H2H points league.  Would you start Framber Valdez with his recent struggles vs COL, or Shane Bieber vs MIL?  I have not had Framber out of the lineup all year, but he has been off lately.  Thank you much!
Brent Hershey
12:48
Framber has hurt me a bunch lately also, but ... can't not start him at home vCOL. He shoves on your bench, and there's no excuse. No problems with Bieber even against MIL, but Framber is the safer play.

12:50
Hi again. Bieber or Lodolo ROS? Thanks again!
Brent Hershey
12:50
Lodolo for me, unless Wins category is in play. Just less risk
