Hey Monday Chatters -- thanks for submitting/showing up early. I have a strict hour this morning, but will get to ask many Qs as I can and will try to keep responses short. That said, not time to waste ...

Looks like Clase is done for this season and who knows for next year. Have him in a Dynasty League and while I hate to drop one of the top closers, I'm thinking about it since I can use his spot. Any thoughts or info on his situation?
Brent Hershey
11:02
Easy drop in a re-draft; exponentially tougher in dynasty. I THINK I'd still hold until we got more info -- but also wouldn't think you were crazy to move on if your current team needed it.
Rick
11:03
NL only Dynasty League. Jordan Walker or Nootbaar? Would you take McCutchen over them for this year only? Thanks and have a great week!
Brent Hershey
11:03
Nootbaar for both.

Hi Brent,

16 team H2H points league. $430 cap, 40 player roster - 23 active & 17 bench. Deep league. We start 5 SPs.

Riley seems injured again, Wood has been colder than .... well you get the idea. He's been abysmal for the last month. Finally Goldscmidt has also been almost useless. 3 spots to backfill.

1. For Riley: IKF, R. Urias, Baty (whose bat has gone AWOL)
2. For Wood: Pham (Springer on IL)
3. For Goldscmidt: Urias, Baty

Four SPs locked in: Woo, Valdez, Cabrera, Boyd

4. The 5th SP (my order of preference): Bibee, Darvish, Gavin Williams, May.

Your thoughts/opinion?

Thanks again for answering my question.
Brent Hershey
11:06
  1. Feel like Baty still your best shot (most skilled)
  2. Yes
  3. Would probably keep Goldy here, though it's not a great situation. Continue to see COR upgrades
  4. Think I might actually prefer Gav Williams - ratio risk, but your first four might help you absorb that. Bibee if not Gav

Currently have Roman Anthony in 12 team 5x5.  He has been a solid contributor in AVG and runs but power is almost non-existent.  Drop him for Moniak or Rafaela?
Brent Hershey
11:07
No; talent disparity is large. Anthony killing the ball, but going into the ground. A small adjustment could be a boon over final 2 months. Like Rafaela much more than Moniak, tho.

Are we done w Cam Smith in mixed 12 teamers?
Brent Hershey
11:09
On my 15-team benches where I have options ... in a 12 -- yeah, might be that time. I tend to believe the fatigue narrative (he's never played a full pro season with this many games), though HOU seems aware and maybe they can get him rejuvenated.

Please rank these potential stashes for 5X5 keepers:  Lawlar, K Campbell, Wetherholt.

Answering for this year: Campbell, Lawlar, Wetherholt

When do the player ROS projections get updated on site? Example: Vaughn of Brewers is on fire, and recognize SSS. BHQ has his ROS HR total at 3. He hit like 7 bombs in last 2 weeks.
Brent Hershey
11:13
Updated daily, but thx for the callout. This looks more like a PT issue (Vaughn should have more in this case). Of course, recognize he is on a heater, which won't last for the remaining 2 months. We'll get Vaughn's PT updated.

11:16
Thank you Brent, 4x4 AL only ros morales sleeper closer for ATH? Criswell to get full time starting gig and deluca finally arriving for PT appreciate your help!
Brent Hershey
11:16
Unlikely for the first two; Criswell esp just a spot starter for them over the deadline. Kyle Harrison more likely if they need rotation reinforcements. DeLuca - it's possible he finds more time, yes — but remember it's TAM.

Hi Brent. In a 12-team 5X5 H2H league with OBP instead of AVG, I need to cut either Andrew Vaughn or Jesus Sanchez when Judge comes off the IL. Which one should get the axe? Bonus question: whom do you prefer ROS: Darvish or Soroka?
Brent Hershey
11:18
Probably cut Vaughn, though it is close. And prefer Soroka -- though the velo dip is worth monoitoring.

Hi Brent! As always, thanks for these chats -so very helpful to all! NL 10 team 5x5 - I have only $13 FAAB left so I am out on the biggest names but might squeak is some 2nd level picks. On the hitting side, I can only drop Nate Lowe or maybe A Del Castillo but I think ADC has some upside and Lowe doesn't.
Should I waive Lowe to try for Marsee, Andujar or Lockridge?

As to pitchers, I have N Cortes coming back but is E Rod in AZ any better/an upgrade over Lord or Junk?
Brent Hershey
11:20
Like Marsee instead of Lowe, but not Andujar (PT questions) or Lockridge (also PT, but unproven and less of a skill set than Marsee).

Not a huge E-Rod fan, but prefer him over Lord. Would probably keep Junk over E-Rod

15 team Mixed.  Are the Mets going to keep rolling CHolmes out there?  Do they have alternatives?  Considering dropping him.... As always, thanks Brent!
Brent Hershey
11:22
Sounds like they are sticking with him for now, but I have some trepidations, as it sounds like you might. Megill will be back at some point, but it's an elbow, and beyond that I feel like it's unproven rookie guys. I'd look outside of that org for replacements if you end up dropping.

15 team mixed, SAVES/HOLDS league.  THolton v. GTaylor ROS?
Brent Hershey
11:23
If Sv/Holds are equally weighted, I'd want Holton. If Saves count more, give me Taylor.

In 12-tm, weekly H2H category, w HD+S,  have Vesia, Dominguez and Abreau. Please comment and rank for ROS for HD+S/good ratios — these three, plus Iglesias, Deitmers, Little, Whitlock, Treinen? & Armstrong. Thanks!
Brent Hershey
11:26
Too many to comment on each; my rough rank:
Iglesias, Treinen, Vesia, Abreu, Whitlock, Little, Detmers, Armstrong, Dominguez. Did I get em all?

AL only.  Should I drop KHarrison?  I guess they'll play DMay... why would they not replace Beuhler with Harrison?
Brent Hershey
11:27
I'd hold Harrison if you have the space. I assume they are tinkering with him and feel like he's not quite there yet. Would seem likely that at some point Beuhler or someone else will be out and KH will be in

Hello Brent!

In a 12-team, redraft H2H points league and looking to add some pop to my lineup for the stretch run. Can you rank these players for ROS:

Happ
Laureano
Montgomery
Beck
Moniak
Royce Lewis
Jorge Polanco
Bernabel
Mountcastle

Second, I have Jansen as my closer and he’s been doing good. Curious if there is more upside with Cade Smith or maybe even Kyle Finnegan now that he is in DET. Again, it would be for this season only.

Thanks and have a great week.
Brent Hershey
11:32
Happ, Laureano, Beck, Moniak, Lewis, Polanco, Montgomery,  Mountcastle, Bernabel

Yeah for ROS only, would prefer Smith over Jansen, but like you say Jansen has been good so it's not a wide gap. Always an injury risk though with Jansen given his history and age. Not convinced Finnegan is the go-to guy in DET. He'll get some b/c of matchups but Hinch has lots of options. As long as he's upright, Kenley is the no-doubter in LAA
rocksmith
11:34
AL only, saves/holds.  Seemingly odd question, but should I blow my faab on 1 reliever (Bednar or Finnegan) OR try to get 2 of Maton, Ferguson, Doval?  Impossible question, but maybe you have an opinion.
Brent Hershey
11:34
Bednar above the rest for me in terms of skills, situation, 2025 performance, etc. So in this case, I'd chase him hard, rather than trying to balance 2 of that secondary tier.
Brent Hershey
11:44
OK, cleared the queue for now ... will wrap very soon (guess I was too efficient!). Last call for Qs

finnegan or vest ros? thank you

Vest; though both will get saves

You say we should drop Wood for Pham because of one bad month?  What happened to patience?  Do we not still care about that?
Brent Hershey
11:52
Was a deep league question; my assumption was the poster was benching, not dropping, Wood.
