Presuming he's not traded, how likely is it that Trivino keeps the closer job once Jimenez is activated.  Conversely, if Trivino is traded, will Jimenez get the job back over Puk and other candidates ?
Brent Hershey
12:55
I'm not interested in Trivino; and Jimenez > Puk right now

Hi Brent, in a 16 team league (32-man rosters with keepers) that’s H2H categories. Do you think Miguel Sano could be a legitimate contributor ROS? Also, can you rank the following ROS? D. Lee, P. Fairbanks, J. Jimenez, T. Stephan, J. Adam. Looking to add another RP to the core but pickings are slim; two of these guys are already rostered. Thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:56
No to Sano
Adams/ Fairbanks/ Stephan/ Jimenez / Lee

Has the exemplary LA Dodgers organization stayed wed too long to aging and injury-prone Turner and Muncy? I have to believe that Miguel Vargas never plays a day for them -- great offensive skill set and an MLB-ready profile makes for a good trade chip.
Brent Hershey
12:57
possibly; especially in case of Muncy. Have been saying for a while just this w/ Vargas ... though will also say that his Futures Game BP was impressive. But these are the types they deal away for current value.

Kelenic!  He had a 9C rating when he came up.  What would his rating be now?  How do you see his future?
Brent Hershey
12:58
8C; unless he fixes swing/miss. Average regular rather than a star

Is Bryson Stott figuring things out? B%, CT% improving but his H% is dreadful.  NL 5x5 OBP priced at $11, seems like a lot of vig for 2023 keeper.
Brent Hershey
12:59
Totally figuring things out. Never gives away an AB; great plate discipline. YTD stats not reflective of in-season improvements. Could well be worth that $11 for 2023; let's see how ROS unfolds.

10 team - NL only - keeper - 5x5 roto - OBP instead of BA. Brent, Can you rank the follow hitters - Nelson Velaquez, Jake McCarthy, Cal Mitchell, David Villar, Nick Fortes? Thank you Brent - really enjoy your Monday Chat!!!

Competing for first in a dynasty league and trying to hold on to Veen in trade negotiations. I don't want to overvalue him but my comp for him is Charlie Blackmon 2.0? I know SB in the minors do not necessarily translate, but 47 out of 50 in steals this year is telling us something, no?
Brent Hershey
1:02
Eh, not sure on Blackmon comp. COL's track record w/ hitters tamps down expectations for me, though SB so far is impressive. Will need to see that repeat at higher levels. Might be a chip you cash in, in a race for top spot this yr. Might.

Any reason for optimism on A.J. Pollock based on his recent performance?  Over the past week, he has a 15% BB%, 88% CT%, 1.50 EYE, and 1.26 HctX, for a 117 BPV.  The rest of his season has been unimpressive.  Is this the beginning of a turnaround, or just a hot streak? He was really good last year when healthy (.892 OPS), and in 2020 (.881 OPS).
Brent Hershey
1:03
Hot streak; I can't trust given his injury history
RK
1:03
Further to my A.J. Pollock question, would you prefer him ROS over either Alec Bohm or Nate Lowe?
Brent Hershey
1:03
Nope; Bohm over him for sure

Who's odd man out in Houston rotation? Do they move Javier to the bullpen?
Brent Hershey

Think McCullers plays out of the pen

In a NL-only 4X4 league, how would you rank the following pitchers ROS - Jesus Luzardo, Justin Steele, and Jakob Junis?
Brent Hershey

Luz / Junis / Steele

Winker or Sanchez is a dynasty league? Both have been really disappointing this year.
Brent Hershey
1:04
SOO many Sanchez's. Gonna guess Jesus; and like Winker better

Who ends up being the best prospect traded at the deadline?
Brent Hershey
1:05
Does CJ Abrams count? If not, then N. Marte.
OR ... the #1 prospect on the team that acquires Soto

Would never have asked this question in the beginning of this year, but would you still keep Torkelson over Vinnie Paquantino in a dynasty league?
Brent Hershey
1:06
Yes; slightly. Well-phrased, though.
Henry

Scott Effross to Yanks. Any chance he closes?
Brent Hershey

Highly doubt it

Your thoughts on Mackenzie Gore?  Has he hit the wall and that's why he's not been as good as he was at the start of the season?  is he a 1, 2, 3, or other next year.
Brent Hershey
1:07
This assumes no TJS, obv. A 3

Rodgers done as SD closer or will they go committee? Looking for another saves option in my H2H league.Any suggestions (already missed out on Garcia!)? Thanks Brent.
Brent Hershey

Think it's either Garcia or Rogers; not a place I'd spec otherwise

What do you see for the pirates most regular lineup after the trade deadline?  Will guys like Castillo and Suwinski play?
Brent Hershey
1:09
I see a team who I become very interested in their schedule (to stream pitchers against)

Do you think Seattle will dial back Gilbert's innings at any point?  Same question for McClanahan.
Brent Hershey
1:09
Slightly for both, yes, as long as playoff run is intact

How do you think the IF playing time shakes out when Segura returns?  Does Stott become a utility infielder, or is there a job share among Stott, Didi, and Segura (and Bohm if he cools off)?
Brent Hershey
1:11
Timeshare among the 3 for 2 IF spots; Segura the most, then Stott, then Didi. Don't think Bohm affects  this equation much
