Cards writers are saying that Leake maybe got a bonus because he can hit a bit and he won't need a PH so he can pitch an extra inning here and there. Knowing what we know about the extra time through the order penalty, isn't that kinda silly?

doubt Leake's hitting acumen factored too much into the equation, but an extra inning here or there throughout the regular season is different than in the playoffs
can't strictly play TTO bullpen games in the regular season or you'll kill your pen
Leake being able to bat for himself in the 6th with men on has its value

I would like to hear your thoughts on Greg Bird. He looks like he has a good eye and lots of power. How good can he be? For a Yankee prospect, he doesn't get much hype. BP has Gary Sanchez ahead of him (50 grade) on their 25-and-under list. Thoughts?
