How crushed would Cleveland be if Lebron opted out and signed somewhere else? HE UNFOLLOWED THE CAVS TWITTER!!

12:16
sometimes the internet can be a terrible place

Who are your favorite non-FG baseball writers?
august fagerstrom
12:19
I probably get more excited for a new Sam Miller piece than anything. Then the rest of the obvious ones -- Jonah Keri, Grant Brisbee, Ben Lindbergh, Buster's daily column, anything Rosenthal puts out. As far as beat guys go, I don't think anybody does it better than Derrick Goold in St. Louis. Travis Sawchik is a must-read in Pittsburgh, as are Andy McCullough and Pedro Moura in LA, Brian MacPherson and Tim Britton in Boston and Zack Meisel and Jordan Bastian in Cleveland

Can you rank the rookie shortstops as far as production this year? Turner, Story, Arcia, Jp Crawford. Thanks!
august fagerstrom
12:20
as far as counting stats go, it's gotta be Story just because he's there on Opening Day and is likely to stick for the year
Turner is probably up the next-quickest, so he'd be next, followed by Arcia and then Crawford
Long-term and the list is the exact opposite order

"Cody Anderson Looks Like Matt Harvey" !!!! -- just that headline alone turns me into that emoji with hearts for eyes. Does Anderson's velo uptick on its own give him a shot at overtaking Tomlin for the last starting spot at the beginning of the season?
august fagerstrom
12:22
I'd be surprised. I suppose Tomlin could open the season in the pen, but with the extension (albeit a small one) and the way he pitched last year, I'd be surprised if he isn't the 5th starter on Opening Day
The velocity is encouraging, but I need to see a more from Anderson than just velocity to be sold on him as a quality big league starter
Larry
12:23
Do you think the Brewers will trade Will Smith?
august fagerstrom
12:24
Yeah, not much need for a back-end reliever entering arb next year on a rebuilding team, and he's good enough to where he could net them a useful prospect
12:25
Might not be before the season starts but I'd be surprised if he were still a Brewer by season'e end
Mike
12:25
Should I be worried about Jacob Degrom only throwing 91-93 versus his normal velocity in his ST start yesterday?
august fagerstrom
12:25
No
You should be worried if he does it in the regular season
Ross
12:26
How worried should I be about the Mariners bullpen?
august fagerstrom
12:27
It wasn't very promising to begin with and already there's been several key injuries. It's definitely not encouraging
You should allot six of your 10 worry points towards it

Could the A's still swing a trade for a SP - such as James Shields - with a B-level prospect that has been jumped in the org - such as Nunez or Pinder?
august fagerstrom
12:27
what do the A's want with James Shields?

What happened to the very awesome Fangraphs Top 200 Prospects List? Did I miss it? It was published in February of last year — not happening this year?
august fagerstrom
12:28
Still got 7 more prospect lists to go
Bork
12:29
Do you believe in Chris Colabello?
august fagerstrom
12:29
I dont believe in Chris Colabello, .900 OPS
I believe in Chris Colabello, improved and useful hitter
12:30
He probably shouldn't be an everyday player, especially on a team that has an everyday DH
Eric
12:30
Thoughts on Tyler White? Will he play? What's his ceiling?
august fagerstrom
12:30
He should play. Him, Singleton and Reed should all get their shot this year
12:31
Hard to see anything less than a hitter there, given what he's done in the minors, and he's got the kind of profile that doesn't come with much risk.
He doesn't have Reed upside, but I like him more than Singleton
George Harrison

SI has picked the Astros to win the world series.
